Your Role
Oversee the global month end close process including setting of month end calendars, monitoring compliance with deadlines, escalating critical issues to the appropriate channels for resolution, and leading global close meetings with Controllers and the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO)
- Coordinating the monthly global financial statement variance analysis for presentation to the CAO, Head of Investor Relations, and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Overseeing, reviewing, and assisting in the timely preparation of financial reports with respect to accounting functions, including monthly financial statement preparations and reporting
- Overseeing team that produces daily management reporting of Assets under Management (AUM) and monthly publicly reported Assets under Management, including management and resolution of escalated issues
- Working closely with data teams to drive automation and efficiencies in AUM reporting
- Driving standardization of processes across the global close and AUM reporting
- Providing resolutions for issues escalated by Compensation and Revenue managers throughout the month and especially during month-end close
- Partnering closely with the financial reporting team to ensure effective and efficient hand-offs between the accounting teams and production of the SEC 10-Q/10-K reporting.
- Partnering with client facing teams to ensure new client accounts are set up accurately and promptly to enable timely client billing and recognition of revenue
- Working closely with leaders of the client billing team to ensure efficient hand-offs between front-end and back-end client service matters
- Acting as a liaison with the Accounting Policy team throughout the implementation of new technical accounting changes as they arise
- Planning, directing, and implementing accounting and financial reporting projects including system conversions, new software implementations, and SOX compliance
- Supporting the oversight of the Global Intercompany Expense Model, including partnering with Tax team and Controllers to ensure appropriate allocations for legal entity and tax reporting purposes
- Serving as primary point of contact for Regional Finance Stakeholders (Controllers, Tax Directors, FP&A, etc.) for general accounting matters and close related topics
- Partnering with Record to Report, Acquire to Retire, and Intercompany End to End Global Leads and Performance Management team to identify continuous process improvement opportunities and execute upon those opportunities
- Supporting expansion of responsibilities within the Hyderabad, India based Global Business Services team including documentation, training, and stabilization of transitioned processes
- Serving as a member of the R2R/A2R/IC Operational End to End team
- Providing support and feedback on staff performance to the Head of Finance Global Business Services, Hyderabad to ensure delivery of service level agreements including accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders
- Managing performance and development cycle for GBS Managers and Senior Managers, including but not limited to setting goals, completing performance evaluations, development reviews, and managing work schedules
- Facilitating long term workforce planning, succession management, and compensation for the team
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business is required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Knowledge of Financial Services Industry preferred.
- Designation as a Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant is required
- A minimum of 12+ years of experience working in an Accounting role with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience managing an accounting month end close for a global company
- Experience working with offshore teams highly preferred
- Experience working with Oracle Cloud Financials highly preferred
- Experience with Alteryx preferred
