The Director GBS PMO is a pivotal role responsible for synchronizing the project management practices with the GBS organizational objectives, ensuring translation to project definitions, successful project delivery, and boost collaboration across the different functions and teams.The ideal candidate possesses a blend of strategic leadership, project management expertise, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of driving positive change within complex organizations. In this role, this person will provide leadership to project teams, ensuring precision in timely and cost-effective delivery, collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team, steer the Program Portfolio, and create impactful leadership materials.In sum, be the go-to expert, driving success in an ever-changing environment while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented approach. Demonstrating a keen understanding of industry dynamics and a commitment to driving operational excellence.
- Drive the seamless management of projects, aligning them with the GBS organizational objectives.
- Provide crucial support using established governance, processes, practices, and tools.
- Develop specialized tools and practices when needed and support mentoring, training, and certification activities within its area of responsibility.
- Lead and oversee projects or a portfolio, crafting comprehensive plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Take charge of the Program Portfolio management (GBS and Manage Business), ensuring end-to-end delivery from initiation to closure.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, contributing to the transformation of how adidas operates.
- Create impactful leadership materials and presentations for executive leadership.
- Manage GBS SLT Calendar, anticipating all needs of coordination and preparation for key meetings and other deliverables.
- Lead the PMO & Headoffice teams.
General Accountabilities
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Apply project management methodology, standards, and best practices.
- Manage competing project constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk.
- Provide consultative support to projects, supplying templates, best practices, and training.
- Keep stakeholders informed on project performance, variances, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate communication across projects, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Lead and guide teams, monitoring performance and proposing training opportunities.
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely and within-budget project delivery
- Stakeholder satisfaction measured through feedback and project outcome evaluations.
- Reduction in project-related risks and swift resolution of issues.
- Accurate and timely reporting on key project metrics.
- Assessment of project compliance.
Key Relationships
- Engage with the Senior Leadership Team, GBS Transition team, Functional Service Leads, and others.
- Collaborate with Tech and Global IT, plus maintain relationships with suppliers.

Knowledge
- Showcase expertise in project management planning and portfolio tooling.
- Has strong change management skills and ability to define and implement change management approaches and deliverables.
- Possess project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, IPMA B/C, PMI certified).
- Exhibit extensive experience in project management methods (e.g., AGILE/SCRUM, PMBOK) and program management.
- Can create business cases and perform project financial control.
- Manage project budgets, make capital spending recommendations, and handle projects across regional boundaries.
Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a BSc or MSc (University Degree).
- Possess a minimum of 10-15+ years of progressive work experience in project/program management.
- Demonstrate at least 5+ years of relevant experience operating at senior level with strategic focus, preferably in GBS organization.
- Hold PMP and Scrum Master certifications (Desirable).
