- Develop payroll strategy and operating model to support our evolving HR Shared Services model and partner with the HR and Finance Leads across the globe to ensure appropriate interdependencies are functioning correctly
- Drive consistent processes across the globe and coordinate regional efforts towards global process standardization in line with statutory requirements, while allowing local flexibility as needed.
- Maximize the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement and change initiatives. Provide engaged and involved project management for ongoing payroll system transitions and the implementation of global time and attendance system.
- Provide oversight of local staff and monitor regional payroll processing centers in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America ensuring payroll is accurate, timely and complies with various government regulations.
- Work closely with Accounting, assist with journal entries, account reconciliations and other duties related to accounting of payroll functions. Partner closely with accounting teams that support each regional payroll centers.
- Implement continuous improvement to payroll delivery including, developing business cases to present to various leaders
- Work closely with internal audit to complete timely quarterly and annual compliance SOX reviews. Train and mentor the global Payroll teams to ensure compliance.
- Coach staff and provide on-going feedback to develop employees and meet goals
- Build cross-functional partnerships to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices
- Own the global payroll vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, consolidation, and management in partnership with other key internal stakeholders
- Provide audit and oversight to the global payroll teams, ensuring that compliance and government interaction requirements are met
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Systems, Finance, Accounting or related field is required
- 10+ years of progressive experience with either HR systems, Payroll systems or a combination of both with demonstrated strong project management skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and define how the HRIS and HR processes meet business needs and the ability to spot data discrepancies
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information required
- Experience managing a team is required
- Must be customer service focused, collaborative, flexible and team oriented with a focus on resolving end user issues quickly and accurately.
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) – advanced use of formulas and functions in Excel is required
- Knowledge of SAP and/or Success Factors enterprise HRIS / HCM experience is a plus
- Knowledge of both ADP and Excelity Global Payroll Systems is a plus
- Background and/or understanding of accounting principles
- International experience
