The Director, HR Global Business Services is responsible for supporting associates through the Associate Life Cycle – from recruitment to offboarding through leadership of teams focused on delivering a best-in-class associate experience, developing and meeting service level agreements, and driving operational performance metrics throughout the full scope of the associate experience at MSA. This position will bring a blend of both technical and operational expertise within the shared services space in addition to strong technological know-how around systems implementation and process improvement.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the overall Human Resources strategy and work collaboratively with colleagues on the HR leadership team on strategic projects, and people-focused initiatives.
  • Build and lead a highly engaged, effective shared service HR team, fostering a culture of trust, respect and accountability.
  • Effectively interface with all levels of the organization to coordinate and oversee all people-related services.
  • Provides strategic direction, sets clear objectives, clarifies expectations, and agrees on the parameters for each person’s authority and accountability using a flexible management approach: coaching, supporting, or guiding for best results.
  • Develop data reporting and metrics to drive strategic data insights for the organization, including the development of SLAs and monthly, quarterly and annual KPIs.
  • Support the different HR teams to promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making and data awareness.
  • Ensure HR transactions, data, and services are timely, accurate, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop mechanisms to evaluate the impact and success of the people service delivery.
  • Oversee HR shared services systems and technologies, leading process improvement initiatives and leading cross-functional projects.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of process maps and standard operating procedures, ensuring they are regularly updated, fit for purpose, and compliant.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 8-10+ years’ experience in HR operations, shared services including experience in managing HR processes, systems, and teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices is necessary, including a solid understanding of global employment laws and regulations, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and HR systems.
  • Highly developed leadership skills managing a large team with proven experience in developing and managing strategic relationships with the business leaders.
  • Proven experience in strategic thinking, planning, analysis, and the ability to support the development of creative and inclusive solutions to solve organizational challenges.
  • Proven experience in delivering people strategies, implementing action plans, and knowledge of current advances in people and culture change.
  • Experience performing diagnostics, implementing KPIs and improving processes using continuous improvement tools.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships, influence at all levels, negotiating, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in building high-performing teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience to internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead teams with discipline to deliver the service with specific SLAs.
  • Good understanding of HR-related compliance matters and data protection requirements, including GDPR.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in Lean and Agile frameworks (e.g. scrum, kanban).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are important for effectively interacting with associates, stakeholders, and senior leadership with an ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to influence as well as tactfully challenge assumptions and decisions at any level of the organization.
  • Ability to challenge and remove team, organizational and/or cultural impediments promoting and supporting change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience using and/or implementing Ceridian highly desired.
  • Master’s Degree and/or relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
