The Director of HR Shared Services reports to the Senior Director of HR Service Delivery. The director oversees and leads the HR Shared Services team, inclusive of the HR Resource Center (HRRC), the Associate Advocacy Center (AAC), and the leave and accommodations management team. Effectively project manage HR Operational projects. Serve as a key liaison between HR shared services and other HR COE’s as well as key departments to support organizational goals and coordination. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of HR services enhancing the overall employee experience.
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement the vision, strategy, and operational framework for HR Shared Services
- Lead, mentor and develop the HR shared services team to enhance performance and career growth
- Serve as key liaison between HR shared services and other departments to support organizational goals and coordination
- Acts as the Accountable Lead for several HR projects and committees
Service Delivery
- Develop and maintain HR metrics and dashboards for the HR Shared Services Team to monitor and review customer service metrics. Ensure the execution of corrective action plans to ensure continuous improvement and sustainability of a high functioning operational department.
- Manage the integration and utilization of HR technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies that may benefit HR operations.
- Facilitate communication and partnership with business leaders to align HR services with business needs.
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies, cost reductions or needed system improvements. Develop and execute mitigation plans for HR shared services.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure core HR processes are effectively designed, documented and implemented for sustained and efficient execution; design and implement innovative solutions where applicable
Operational Excellence & HR Compliance
- Responsible for HR Shared Service budget and performing at target.
- Document, review, recommend and manage changes, development and improvement of HR policies and procedures
- Partner with key stakeholders to anticipate, evaluate and respond to changes within HR operations and organizational dynamics.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements related to employment and HR practices
- Responsible for HR Accreditation processes and overall HR compliance for regulatory bodies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): HR professional certification preferred
- Experience: 10+ years required; 2-3 years leadership of people preferred.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): None required, but relevant certifications preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
- Excellent collaboration, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
- Must maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
- Experience in a wide range of HR specialty topics; with preferred knowledge around leave and accommodations management, employee relations, and HR service center operations.
- Effective project management skills including organization, operationalizing and executing
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across HR and the organization
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to provide shared governance across the organization
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in HRIS and other HR-related technologies.
