The Director International Finance Programmes will play a critical role in establishing, overseeing, and executing all aspects of finance-related projects for our international organisation, along with taking ownership of key finance transformation initiatives. This includes supporting all the finance organisation’s projects, from initial planning to post-completion project management activities.

Finance Project and Program Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan outlining key milestones, timelines, and deliverables for all projects.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with workstream leaders and their team members to facilitate communication and alignment.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, controllership, investor relations, human resources, and external partners, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout various projects.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership and the steering committee on project status, milestones, and key metrics.
  • Manage and monitor a detailed project budget, including estimates of the resources and investments needed to achieve project goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management practices and project outcomes.

Finance Transformation

  • Set-up and drive finance improvements and utilisation of the shared services organisation to drive efficiencies.
  • Standardisation of our international accounting processes, set-up of SSC, and driving harmonisation of procedures and transition to SSC.
  • Evaluate and update the finance organisational chart to support new requirements for financial reporting and controls.
  • Work closely with finance colleagues and other stakeholders (Europe finance/accounting directors and local finance controllers) to establish RACI and drive accountability for contributions and workstream/task ownership for key projects.

Establish governance and oversight of key projects

  • Improve financial systems and reporting.
  • Automation of manual close processes (ICP).
  • Align Mgmt & GAAP reporting rollout of global and international procedures and processes.
  • Enhance rigour to efficiently deliver results.
  • Establishing a global chart of account alignment to reduce manual journal entries.
  • Implementing an overall month-end closure checklist, and implementation of Blackline.
  • Automation/simplification of close effort and days.
  • Establish global governance and compliance framework.
  • Identifying key controls required and process improvement needed to overcome internal/external audit findings.
  • Ensuring key policies are documented and standardising a framework for key reserves.
  • Standardising the master data governance framework to align with global requirements.
  • Drive overall projects for improvements, such as implementation of Concur, invoice processing (P2P), Blackline, ERP projects, Oracle reporting, RPA, etc.
  • Support in M&A integration projects.
  • Assist the VP International Finance and VP Global Controller as needed.
  • Holds a degree in accounting and/or finance. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience employing project management principles, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
  • Expertise in shared services model implementation/execution, SoX/internal controls, and accounting (IFRS & US GAAP preferred).
  • Proven managerial experience.
  • Project management expertise, with a proficiency in project management tools (project management certifications preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong command of the English language; any additional European language skills are a plus.
  • Team player, dynamic, results-oriented, and hands-on mentality; and willing to occasionally travel.
