Acuity, Inc. is looking for a dynamic, proactive, and proven Director to lead and develop the A cuity Marketing & Communications Team. This individual reports to our Chief Growth Officer and works across the organization and in close partnership with the Leadership Team, Business Development, the Technology Solutions Group, and Operations to generate leads and drive strategic growth.
Th e Director Marketing & Communications role has a growing team of full-time direct reports and shares additional resources (graphics, technical writing) across our matrixed organization.
Strategy
- Create and execute federal business development strategies aimed at building relationships and accelerating growth
- Partner with senior leaders to develop new growth areas
- Establish organizational objectives, plans and budgets to deliver on strategy
The successful candidate will be focused across three key areas of the Acuity Marketing Department: Brand Management, Lead Generation and Content Marketing, and Shared Services Support.
Brand Management
- Develop, execute and manage Acuity positioning and brand messaging
- Work closely with the Leadership Team to coordinate strategic media opportunities and promote Acuity as a thought leader in Public Sector
- Create and ensure compliance of brand management and content development governance structures to guide strategic content creation
- Support business development growth and expansion through effective brand awareness, thought leadership, and creative service campaign execution
- Maintain centralized library (Acuity Brand Central) to help ensure the entire organization is using most current and approved messaging and assets to promote Acuity’s business across all core constituencies
- Develop, manage and promote the Marketing Content Calendar
- Mature Acuity’s Style Guide and ensure uniform writing style and tone across all communications
- Work closely with VP of HR to establish communication and training plans for branding initiatives and programs tied to Acuity’s career pages, hiring practices, and recruitment efforts
Lead Generation and Content Marketing
- Oversee and provide subject matter expertise for advanced market research to develop relevant content and long-term leads in current and target markets
- Build and execute strategic, lead generation plan aligning all corporate campaigns to strategic priorities
- Strategize, develop and deploy content marketing plans in support of team and company objectives
- Draft and distribute internal and external marketing communications, including corporate campaigns, awards, notices, press releases, etc.
- Own and coordinate Marketing Editorial Calendar with input from internal SMEs and stakeholders to ensure alignment across all Business Units and in support of Acuity’s business objectives, account plans and strategic growth plan
- Contribute to Acuity’s Content Management System, KnowledgeView to mature development of compelling brand messages
- Inform digital marketing strategies across corporate website, blog, social media channels and through ABM to drive increased revenue and build brand awareness
- Create and edit various marketing materials (website, blogs, email campaigns, brochures, video scripts, leadership messaging)
- Design and review monthly analytic metrics across all channels and make recommendations to improve performance across established KPIs and related metrics
- Measure and report effectiveness of all initiatives, course correct as necessary
Shared Services
- Manage shared services function including graphic designers, copy writers, social media contributors and external vendors to support Acuity business objectives
- Oversee internal team and external vendors to develop and execute corporate marketing communication strategies and deliverables
- Help establish and manage scalable model for marketing technology partnerships and related services when partnered with Acuity
- Promote content and campaigns created by vendor marketing team across web and social media channels
- Attend leadership meetings and present to executive audience
- Prepare and manage Marketing Budgets and expenses effectively
- Contribute to events and communications to support Acuity’s culture and company morale
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, communications, mass media, social sciences, or marketing
- Knowledge of digital marketing, lead generation, government technology marketing and white space analysis
- 10+ years of marketing experience with at least 2 years of experience in content development and account base marketing best practices
- Strong background in managing brand activities for business
- Able to articulate IT solutions in a business-focused message and understand the needs of public sector industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CMS (WordPress or similar), CRM (Salesforce), SEM RUSH, and Sharpspring marketing tools
- Able to design and deliver content strategy and branding initiatives
- Project Management of complex campaign and content plans throughout the project planning lifecycle
- Public Sector marketing experience to include campaign management collaboration
- Excellent people and relationship-building skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and vendor partners
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Self-motivated, self-starter with a track record for leading successful projects
Clearance Requirements
- Secret clearance or higher preferred, must be US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
