High growth company looking for a Director of Accounts Payable who possess strong analytical abilities, a penchant for process improvement, and adeptness in managing change. They will lead a large team responsible for various aspects of accounts payable while promoting collaboration and excellence within the department. Chicagoland area office with offering some work from home flexibility.

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of accounts payable, encompassing invoice and payment processing, customer service, and performance tracking.
  • Fostering a positive team culture focused on teamwork, communication, and commitment to quality.
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancement and technological integration to optimize AP functions.
  • Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness in invoice and payment processing.
  • Analyzing accounts payable data to provide insights into financial metrics and vendor performance.
  • Managing vendor relationships, from setup to issue resolution, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitoring and analyzing AP metrics to identify improvement areas and trends.
  • Implementing robust AP processes across multiple locations, emphasizing reconciliation, controls, and exception management.
  • Upholding internal controls, compliance standards, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Providing leadership and support to the accounts payable team through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Collaborating with other departments to address issues and enhance processes.
  • Presenting reports to senior management on AP performance and initiatives.
  • Degreed in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 10+ years of AP shared services experience
  • Experience leading large teams
  • History of process improvement, automation and scaling operations
  • Excellent cross functional communication skills
