ORBCOMM is a leading global provider of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication solutions that remotely track, monitor and control fixed and mobile assets.

We are looking for a Director of Finance Shared Services to guide all financial activities within our shared services department and work with the functional leaders in the United States to ensure on-time and high-quality deliverables of the Shared Services team. Further, the Director of Shared Services is a key member of the local management team and develops best-in-class onboarding and work transition processes for finance and other back-office functions. This individual will be in Hyderabad.

 

  • Provide leadership and support to our finance team, fostering an environment where they can excel.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations such as billing, collections and accounts payable.
  • Work in close collaboration and within the guidance of the functional leaders in the United States to optimize our core finance processes.
  • Develop an environment of continuous improvement and identify opportunities for process improvement, task automation, and procedural standardization within finance shared services to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Address any escalated concerns from internal and external stakeholders promptly and efficiently.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with other teams and external partners to ensure alignment between our financial objectives and overall business goals.
  • Uphold a robust internal control environment, overseeing the preparation and review of reports for internal and external audits, resolving outstanding issues, and ensuring audit compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and other operational teams to identify impactful process enhancements, deliver value, optimize resource allocation, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Establish departmental objectives and regularly monitor key performance metrics, providing insightful analysis and reports to management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CA, CMA) preferred.
  • Proven track record (7 years) of leadership experience in finance shared services or similar roles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive change, and build high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and technology, including ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with Indian GST and TDS regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
