Adventurous Journeys Operations (“AJ Operations”) is seeking a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to create and oversee asset and portfolio-level analytical and reporting processes and tools in support of rapid growth across multiple investment platforms.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director, FP&A will be responsible for creating and implementing strategic planning and analytical processes and reporting for a growing operating portfolio, including hotels, restaurants and bars, office and retail, multifamily residential, and other creative mixed-use real estate developments, ensuring each property has the data, tools, and reports needed to perform to ownership’s expectations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and variance analysis for AJ Operations.
• Create models in Excel to facilitate planning and analytical processes.
• Implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor ongoing performance.
• Work closely with AJ Capital corporate accounting to ensure accuracy of AJ Operations financial statements and assist with reporting packages for management, lender, and investor reporting.
• Lead efforts to research, implement, and continuously monitor/update shared services and property cost allocations.
• Develop a deep understanding of each platform, provide analysis based on budgeted, forecasted, and prior period results, and partner with operations leaders to identify operational inefficiencies and develop strategies to maximize profitability and long-term asset value.
• Create individual reporting schedules and presentations based on the needs of executive team, operations, or external stakeholders.
• Identify and implement standardized best practices, technologies, and internal controls to help AJ Operations scale efficiently and mitigate risks.
• Provide ad-hoc financial and operational analysis to support shared services and property operations’ future growth or reinvestment strategies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, capital planning, and implementing analytical tools and processes. This role also requires the following capabilities:

• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with senior executives and external stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with high expertise in Excel
• Ability to effectively navigate between high-level strategic and detailed tactical work
• Meticulous attention to detail and the highest standards for accuracy, timeliness, and precision
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and lead cross-functional project teams
• Ability to deal effectively with ambiguities and manage multiple projects through completion, often under tight deadlines, with competing priorities and minimal supervision

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
• Deep familiarity with financial statements, financial analysis techniques, and financial systems

Preferred

• 5+ years of experience in real estate financial analysis
• Prior experience in a start-up environment and/or hospitality FP&A or asset management
• An advanced degree, such as a Master of Accountancy (MAC) or a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• CPA license
