The Director of HRGBS (Human Resource Global Business Services), North America (NA) is responsible for the delivery of HR services to the organization in the areas of Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Learning and Development, Mobility, and employee’s data management in compliance with rules and regulations. The Director of the HRGBS provides leadership and vision regarding NA HRGBS services to a team of HR professionals ensuring alignment and high-level performance.
- Provides strategic guidance and leadership to define and implement the NA HR service delivery model supporting all areas within the scope of the HRGBS while taking into consideration the current and future needs and goals the business.
- Demonstrate consistent Lean leadership in all matters; evaluate local and regional people processes to drive continuous improvement of the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the group; gather and analyze commonalities and differences and implement changes to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships within the HR team as well as with internal and external customers. Partner closely with the HR Business Partners to align on business priorities and needs.
- Responsible for performance and talent management including the development of team members and accountability to goals and performance. Develop short- and long-term development and succession plans for all areas within the HRGBS.
- Own, execute and develop strategic programs and projects within the HR Operations and Services organization globally. Influence global HR Operations road-mapping to support long-term service delivery goals.
- Provides overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities. Posses the ability to delegate, in order to manage conflicting priorities.
- Ensures all HRGBS processes, including payroll processing incorporate appropriate control mechanism, data protection and country legal / regulatory compliance tasks
- Maintains awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future functionality.
- Oversee the development and monitoring of HR metrics and organizational dashboards to support planning and decision making. Manage external vendor relations and ensure that performance as well as ongoing continuous improvement to support future business goals.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
- Strong management skills instilling trust and credibility while developing and coaching team members.
- Ability to maintain organization in a multi-task position while maintaining excellent attention to detail, root cause analysis and deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Expert project management skills, including the ability to assess risk, manage and organize work, allocate budget, and people resources, adapt to unfolding circumstances, and deliver on-time results
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire, familiarity with the roles and function of the assigned department, and any specifically applicable laws or guidelines.
- Exceptional communication skills.
Education and Experience
- 8+ years of combined experience in HR, interfaces and project management.
- 5+ years managing a team is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related experience.
- Strong understanding of Human Capital Management Systems (HCM). Experience with SAP (Employee Central), ADP WorkForce Now, and e-time is an asset.
- Training or experience with quality, project management and continuous improvement tools.
