This role will be responsible for the direction and coordination of Organizational Development (OD), Talent Acquisition (TA) and the Social element of the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives — specifically associated with our Inclusion and Diversity initiatives and practices. This position provides direction, oversight and strategic support to senior leaders, key managers and HR teams throughout the company in each of these areas.

  • Manages and administers services in the development and delivery of a comprehensive organizational development program that facilitates the alignment and integration of people, processes, and technology.
  • Leverages our vision and strategy; enabling workforce and leadership to achieve business goals and advance culture.
  • Plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates long-term organizational development effectiveness, change management initiatives, processes, and interventions, and provides direction, advice, and counsel to all levels of directors, managers and employees.
  • Including the company’s Human Capital Journey;
    • Manages talent programs, policies and procedures to improve employee retention, engagement and participation. Implements the onboarding process for new employees and development training programs, in conjunction with HR business partners and functional clients, for existing employees.
    • Organizes performance management process.
    • Oversees the annual Employee Engagement Survey.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the Talent Acquisition function and the social component of ESG.
  • Develops strategies and implements programs that increase inclusion and diversity initiatives that inspire, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Provides counseling and assistance to organizational business partners in OD, TA and ESG as needed.
  • Supports the company’s efforts to deploy the Woodmark culture and seek to create the right environment for our business and our employees. Serves as an advocate for both the company and our employees in all employee relations situations.
  • Responsible for updating the knowledge repository to enable team to take ownership of a higher percentage of inbound inquiries.
  • Any additional projects as assigned in support of the company’s vision.
  • Is a role model for our CITE principles and our Working in Teams principles.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • This position will provide direct supervision to the leaders of OD, TA and ESG and their associated teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of management experience; a history of progressively responsible and hands-on HR experience; experience as an HR business partner or center of excellence leader serving a business unit/division-wide (or larger) organization is preferred
  • Experience in developing and administering programs related to the Human Capital Journey including, both hourly and salary populations.
  • Proven track record of project management and team leadership experience
  • Experience with Shared Services is preferred

Skills

  • Knowledge of Human Resource Systems of all types (learning management, talent management, performance management, etc.) and Client/Provider environments
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with leaders and stakeholders from all areas of the business
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to administer Talent programs with a partially hybrid/remote workforce
  • Ability to effectively manage vendor relationships
  • Capable of communicating in a confident, articulate and professional manner
  • Excellent personal computer skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint

EDUCATION

  • An undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Certification through SHRM and/or HRCI preferred.
