The Director of Information Technology is responsible for management of a team and advancing key infrastructure technologies including security, cloud foundation, network, platform service enablement, telephony, conferencing, collaboration, as well as data centers. The Director of IT contributes to the development and execution of the IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. This individual will have a diversified background of technology platforms and systems engineering experience, demonstrated project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to platform engineering.
- Foster a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.
- Lead the development of the infrastructure and operations strategy and roadmap.
- Provide oversight for the design and development of IT platforms that fulfill the needs of the business in alignment with IT Strategy and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective infrastructure solutions are in place to meet those needs and can respond with agility to changing business priorities.
- Work with the IT leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources for key initiatives and operational support.
- Leverage influencing and negotiation skills across IT and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
- Develop and controls the infrastructure annual operating and capital expenditure budget for infrastructure and operations; manages expenses to stay within plan.
- Implement enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure the delivery of value to the enterprise.
- Research and assess external and internal infrastructure capabilities required to achieve desired business goals.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.
Accountability
- The Director of IT is accountable for building and maintaining a scalable, responsive organization that continuously enhances the availability, usability, and efficacy of technology services and applications in alignment with the business strategy. In carrying out the functions and responsibilities of the position, the Director of IT will direct the efforts of a team inclusive of internal staff, consulting partners and managed service providers.
- Responsible for completion of all work assigned within predetermined deadlines.
- Accountable for protection of security and confidentiality of all systems maintained.
- Accountable for the approving and purchasing of IT purchases as indicated in Everwise’s Fixed Asset Policy (IT Network Purchasing Specialist) and Everwise’s Cash Expenditure Policy (IT Purchasing Specialist).
- Accountable for Performance Management Goals as agreed upon with Supervisor.
- Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and Everwise policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.
Education & Experience
- 4-year college degree with technical emphasis or equivalent professional work experience.
- 7 or more years of experience leading IT infrastructure and operations involving hybrid computing environments and managed service provider offerings.
- 7 or more years of experience in incidents, problems, and/or change management processes.
- 7 or more years of experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts.
- 7 or more years of experience Experienced in technical project management and / or leadership skills including the ability to plan, organize, and control activities.
- Demonstrated experience with platform and systems engineering in a public cloud environment, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Lean/Agile experience is a plus.
