Our client is a leading provider of global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) solutions. They enable institutional investors and publicly listed companies to make sustainable decisions based on research and data.

The Company was founded in 2003 in the US and now have operations in Australia, Japan, Ireland, England, Germany, France and the Philippines, along with several offices in the US.

They employ more than 400 permanent employees across the aforementioned geographies, including approx. 30 in the Philippines, where they started operating just under 2yrs ago.

The organization are now ready for the next step in their Philippine journey, and are looking to establish themselves in the country, hence are now seeking suitable candidates for a Director of Operations (Philippines) opening.

The role will have full operational responsibility for their site and Philippine operation, though a key element of the role at the outset will be setting them up (legal entity in the Philippines), locating a suitable site, and transitioning their entire team across to said site, before then concentrating on expanding the operation, with an initial plan of increasing the team to approx. 150/170 headcount in the next 3years.
Suitable candidates will come with at least 10yrs of experience in a shared services/captive environment, 5yrs of which in a senior management level position. At this point in time the client is only interested in talking to candidates who have hands on experience of setting up a new entity/company in the Philippine market, hence these elements are key in terms of alignment to the selection criteria.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, polished, data driven operational leader, passionate about their work, and the provision first class customer service. He/she will have a roll the sleeves up/get the hands dirty attitude/mindset. You will be a hands-on operational technician, driving the performance of your team, constantly looking to improve and innovate, always willing to go the extra mile for your clients/customers, whilst being an aspiring leader to your team.

  • Bachelor’s degree qualification
  • Minimum 15yrs working experience in a captive and/or shared services environment
  • Minimum of 5yrs experience in a role with full site/operation responsibility
  • Previous experience setting up/establishing a local entity of a MNC company in the Philippines
  • Experience managing a P&L and/or the financials associated with running a site/operation
  • Demonstrated ability managing/leading and growing teams, driving performance, consistently producing superior results, and cultivating ownership while enforcing company policies and applicable law, someone leads by example and inspires.
  • Proven track record of effectively collaborating cross functionally with both internal and external teams and all key stakeholders (from the very bottom to the very top, aka ‘c-level executives’)
  • A hands on/roll the sleeves up operator, doing whatever is necessary to meet targets, with excellent attention to details
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of people at all levels (both internally and externally)
  • Previous experience working with US based c-suite stakeholders would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) in English
  • Willing to work flexible schedules to meet the global scope/demands of the role (including weekends and holidays if when necessary).
