We are hiring for a Director of Procurement, Philippines
As the Director of Procurement, Philippines at Shangri-La Group, the role is to drive and execute clear countrywide procurement synergies in alignment with the global Shangri-La Group vision and strategy focused on fuelling for Performance.
The position will manage indirect spending (which includes Capex, HEOS, Contracts, Projects, Market list) for Philippines, and drive the synergies, savings, and value-creating initiatives.
In addition, the position will actively engage with key local, regional and Headquarter business stakeholders on strategic initiatives. The role will foster close collaboration with Finance and internal divisions responsible for Procure to Pay and lead change management towards simplification and implementation of Procurement processes improvements and drive efficiencies within Philippines.
Drive new key initiatives, projects within the country to support the business growth objectives, including but not limited to Supply Chain & Logistics, Data Management & Innovation projects and more, collaborating with cross functional Southeast Asia & Australasia (SEAA)/ Headquarter teams from transformation strategy to execution. To drive a consistent approach towards all sourcing, purchasing and tendering activities within the business.
The Director of Procurement, Philippines position will report directly to the Vice President Operations, SEAA and the respective General Managers within Philippines, and a dotted line to the Assistant Vice President Procurement, SEAA.
- Manage and lead the procurement team both onsite Central Procurement Manila and offsite (Mactan and Boracay).
- Responsible for the end-to-end procurement function of all spend relating categories. Includes the establishment and continuous review of overall procurement strategy, ensuring an excellent regional sourcing/network/supplier management. Establishment and compliant with Group Procurement Policies.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Lead tender planning to contract execution with favourable terms meeting user requirements, and demonstrate transparency, compliances, and fiscal responsibility.
- Cultivate and oversee the supplier network, enhancing cost-efficiency initiatives, and executing activities aligned with regional procurement needs.
- Accountable for overseeing both strategic planning and operational execution of cost-efficiency programs through robust procurement program management
- Accountable for the portfolio framework to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class procurement and suppliers performance.
- Manage complex procurement projects within operations, to ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs, and operational execution.
- Innovate and revamp processes, enhance efficiency to meet and exceed service levels
- Foster collaboration between global, regional, and local procurement and key regional stakeholders by ensuring transparency, effective communication, understanding of business needs, and alignment.
- Consolidate orders/delivery of products to maximise efficiency of freight
- Working with the team, develop and execute regional sourcing strategies and be accountable for the outcome
- Actively drives vendors assurance program
- Nurture and develop a strong talent pipeline and succession plan, foster high potential and address performance gaps
- Lead and motivate team to deliver quality services within expected turnaround times
- Drive the sustainable and responsible sourcing within the portfolio
- Demonstrate business mindset to strive for operational excellence
- Seasoned professional in procurement with minimum 10 years in leading a Cluster Procurement environment
- Proven ability to lead a team located on and offsite
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies and contract management.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems e.g Oracle is a plus.
