This is a high-profile position with regular interaction with leadership as well as vendors and franchise owners. Cross functional collaboration is expected as we work to solve problems and drive improvements and efficiencies throughout the Company.
Manage Financial Operations (55%)
- Manage the overall operation of the team to ensure accurate recording of transactions and timely remittance to vendors and franchisees.
- Coordination and support of accounting staff, and their activities, duties, and tasks, including training and mentoring.
- Preparation of departmental annual budget through coordination with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare financial plans.
Month-end Close (20%)
- Monthly review of accounting records, preparation of account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and approval of standard journal entries and preparation of necessary adjusting journal entries.
- Responsible for AP and AR subledger management including collections and bad debt analysis.
- Preparation of standard and ad hoc management reports.
- Apply CECL guidance under ASC 326 as it related to accounts receivable and lease receivable balances.
Special Projects/Process Improvements (25%)
- Evaluation of accounting systems, internal accounting controls, processes, and functions, with recommendations for improvement.
- Seek out ways to automate processes through the ERP system while eliminating Excel data manipulation and maintenance of paper documents.
- Identify and implement PTP/OTC solutions that meets our requirements to drive operational excellence and streamline processes.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- CPA/MBA or progress towards same is strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive financial accounting experience from a large CPA firm and/or corporate accounting environment is preferred.
- Experience managing teams, evaluating performance, and mentoring others.
- Leading organizational transformation and change management experience.
- Franchise and retail experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships cross-functionally to drive attainment of goals and objectives.
- Proficient with accounting software selection and implementation as well as Microsoft office products
