The Pharmacy Performance team is responsible to perform cross-functional pharmacy shared services to ensure the Pharmacy Services team is an efficient and high-performing team. The Director, Program and Project Management will report to the Vice President Pharmacy Services. In this role you will be responsible for pharmacy readiness and incident management, vendor performance management, infrastructure, program management, regulatory compliance and audit readiness.   • Lead the performance teams responsible for ensuring the Pharmacy Services team is an efficient and high-performing team, including management and implementation of operational projects and programs
  • Be responsible for defining and advancing the maturity of the pharmacy performance management capability through a shared services model
  • Collaboratively work across multiple business areas to obtain agreement from all impacted parties when addressing cross functional organizational problems
  • Coordinate Pharmacy Services team readiness for new implementations with the goal of ensuring all members have access to the right pharmacy benefit or services at the right price on their effective date and all operational metrics are within agreed upon service levels
  • Manage the Pharmacy Services incident management process to ensure defects are identified and resolved quickly and systematic fixes are put in place to prevent future defects
  • Oversee, manage performance and maintain contracts with select pharmacy vendors to drive process and business efficiencies in support of our culture of affordability
  • Develop and document policies and procedures and other technical documents to support pharmacy infrastructure
  • Lead and oversee the team that performs quality assurance of select team members and vendors to ensure consistent application of Blue Shield policies and procedures
  • Develop new products, processes standards or operational plans in support of Pharmacy Services strategy
  • Lead and oversee the pharmacy program and team to ensure compliance, risk management and audit readiness
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 10 years prior relevant experience, including 6 years of management experience
  • Requires at least 10 years experience managing projects, programs or complex change initiatives
  • Requires mastery level knowledge or experience at a pharmacy benefits management company, health plan or similar healthcare organization
