An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client for a Director within Global Business Services (GBS). This newly created role aims to support the Head of GBS by closely collaborating with the UK COO, contributing to leadership responsibilities and strategic initiatives. Please only apply if you have led a large scale shared services or business services function with reporting lines in India, Poland and the UK.
Operations:
- Take the lead on core operational matters, including financial planning and cost management.
- Drive the agenda for cost transparency, ensuring detailed analysis within GBS and service lines.
- Develop and execute a data integration strategy for flexible reporting and analytics.
- Lead the evolution of GBS strategy, maturity assessments, and growth initiatives.
- Enhance operational risk management capability within GBS.
- Champion continuous improvement across our services.
- Refine the location strategy and oversee its implementation.
Talent & Team:
- Lead initiatives to enhance engagement and cultivate a strong organisational culture aligned with our Shared Values framework.
- Prepare presentations, briefings, and reports for senior stakeholders.
Business & Leadership Support:
- Foster strong relationships with senior stakeholders and their Chiefs of Staff.
- Serve as an ambassador for GBS within the UK business and Enabling Functions, representing GBS on relevant matters.
- Foster collaboration across Enabling Functions, focusing on specific initiatives and long-term partnerships.
- Lead projects on behalf of the Head of GBS and provide deputy support as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends and upcoming events, offering strategic recommendations.
Budget:
- Lead and coordinate annual budget planning, including forecasting.
- Monitor spending and collaborate with the Finance team, ensuring effective communication of budget status and updates.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance budget and cost management.
- Manage billing and invoicing approvals.
- Assist in creating and managing project-specific budgets across the function.
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role, with a track record of success in operations management and strategic planning.
- Strong influencing skills and a proactive, positive approach.
- Ability to navigate sensitive situations with tact and discretion.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
