The Executive Director of Shared Services is responsible for ensuring system-level coordination for key projects, management of compliance and communications for state authorization, and oversight of system-level Customer Relations Management (CRM) projects. This position will advise on and implement policies and procedures for institutions to effectively execute strategic projects as well as oversee continuous improvement and quality integration. The Executive Director of Shared Services will be responsible for ensuring that data and research are being used effectively to support unit goals and objectives. This position will leverage institutional experience to ensure that best practices are incorporated throughout shared services and will collaborate frequently and directly with faculty, institutional leadership, and stakeholders. The Executive Director of Shared Services will serve in a central leadership position within the Academic and Strategic Initiatives Unit at USG eCampus. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, compliance requirements, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills to ensure that complex system-level projects are implemented effectively.
- Oversight and Direction of System CRM Projects (40%) -Identify key stakeholders at various institutions and projects -Collaborate with stakeholders to align needs with organizational goals Convene Institutional Project Teams -Coordinate project timelines-Develop governance protocols for system upgrades -Identify and reconcile project obstacles -Serve as the primary contact for consultants that support the project team -Prepare and implement CRM training and job aids.
- State Authorization and Compliance (25%) -Plan and execute communication strategies at key compliance milestones -Maintain institutional contacts related to state authorization and compliance-Serve as a system-level contact for NC Sara and supportive informational networks -Liaise with the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Commission to ensure institutions meet data and reporting requirements. -Prepare funding approval forms on behalf of institutions for system office payment.
- System Strategic Initiatives (20%) -Convene the academic leads of eCampus and other USG consortiums annually -Assist with the development of new system-level consortiums and programs Provide project management protocols to meet implementation deadlines.
- Advisory Group Facilitation and Other duties as assigned (15%) Facilitate, attend, and participate in advisory groups as assigned Evaluate, escalate, and implement changes based on advisory feedback -Support institutional accreditation compliance for cooperative academic arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a higher education setting with increasing levels of responsibility. Strong understanding of compliance requirements and ability to leverage that knowledge to the University System of Georgia ecosystem. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong leadership skills to build and manage cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive initiatives across the University System of Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or 10 plus years of experience in higher education serving as an administrator, project manager, or other academic leadership experience with increasing responsibility. Demonstrated leadership capacity working across multiple higher education institutions. Experience with a Customer Relations Management System, in particular Salesforce.
