The Executive Director, Global Payroll at NCR is a key role within the HR organization that will lead the global Payroll function to deliver world class support and services to our global employees. The Executive Director, Global Payroll will also play a key role in the payroll transformation as we look to standardize, streamline and automate the global payroll processes.
- Lead the global payroll & time and attendance operations to provide accurate and efficient payroll services by working closely with local teams and payroll regional leaders to ensure payroll is processed as per the defined procedures, guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Establish and deploy a Global Payroll Strategy & develop a multi-year roadmap including planning, design, implementation, communication, and delivery of the payroll technology and process improvement projects.
- Lead the payroll transformation activities as we look to consolidate global payroll systems, harmonize payroll processes and enhance automation with an objective of efficiency, and scale.
- Engage with internal/external subject matter experts to define a robust transformation plan, identifying critical internal resource needs and mapping interdependencies across various functions.
- Manage the relationship with the external payroll service provider(s) for the services provided by the vendor.
- Implement a scalable infrastructure for reporting and analysis requirements and oversee payroll audit.
- Provide strategic leadership for Payroll operations while measuring and monitoring the effectiveness and efficiencies of the essential services provided.
- Measure and monitor the effectiveness of the global payroll services.
- Manage a complex portfolio of global implementations and large mergers & acquisitions
- Partner with the Stock Administration and People teams to manage stock-based compensation processing in payroll, including stock option exercises, RSUs and ESPP, to ensure payroll tax compliance.
- Act as a business partner to respective payroll and country leadership teams. Manage communications with all stakeholders.
- Keep up to date on required regulatory/compliance requirements and ensure compliance and ensure required taxes, social contributions, benefit programs and other deductions are handled in accordance with local laws and regulations for each country.
- Partner closely with various stakeholders (finance, tax, total rewards, etc.) to ensure payroll tax compliance.
- Operate with a mindset of continuous performance improvement to streamline and automate as opportunities arise.
- Manage the operational aspects of the payroll function including vendor invoices, service level agreements, vendor contracts, etc.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, HR or related field.
- A minimum of twelve to fifteen (12-15) years of hands-on global experience in Payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Process Management, Program Management or Shared Services.
- A minimum of eight (8) years managing a global payroll function, including managing a geographically diverse team.
- Experience leading global teams and working in a global ecosystem.
- Experience working with payroll providers in a processing and managed services model.
- Experience in leading large payroll transformation/implementation projects.
- Experience working with Workday, ADP and other vendor payroll systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to combine attention to detail with big picture perspective.
- Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization including senior executives; able to comfortably speak to business line managers and establish a communication cadence.
- Ability and drive in identifying and resolving issues that span organizations and creating a shared vision for results.
- Must be proficient with MS Office software (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- APA and/or global payroll certification.
