This position reports to the IRUSA Foundation Board of Directors. The Executive Director (“ED”) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the endowment, developing and implementing investment strategies, and working collaboratively with the IRUSA Executive team to ensure that the endowment’s goals align with the IRUSA’s overall mission.

The successful candidate will quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of the activities of the IRUSA Foundation and play a critical role in establishing the core processes of IRUSA Foundation and scaling its operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to a steep learning curve and operate both independently and within a small team to execute on different initiatives. The successful candidate will also be able to operate in a lean environment and be comfortable taking personal accountability for their actions.

  • Develop and implement strategic and operational planning for the management and growth of the organization.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the endowment, including investment management, financial reporting, project management, and compliance.
  • Manage the IRUSAF team to ensure that organizational goals are achieved.
  • Communicate regularly with the Board of Directors and provide reports on the endowment’s performance.
  • Negotiate & Manage the Shared Services / Service Level Agreement with IRUSA.
  • Collaborate with the IRUSA Executive Team on IRUSAF operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage the endowment’s investment portfolio. Maintain relationships with external investment partners and advisors.
  • Prepare investment performance reports for various stakeholders (IRUSAF Board, IRUSA Board, IRUSA Executive Team, Donors, general public).
  • Work with the Investment Committee to evaluate and recommend investment opportunities.
  • Manage donor reporting and communications for IRUSAF donors
  • Coordinate Vision Trips for major donors with IRUSA team
  • Develop and Drive the organization’s marketing strategy.
  • Increase awareness of IRUSAF both within the IRUSA membership base as well as the broader community.
  • Support execution of fundraising Initiatives and drive the development of new IRUSAF specific products.
  • Drive Endowment/Planned Giving Conversations with IRUSA Donors. Support MG/FD Team in Fundraising for IRUSAF Provide 2nd level support for donor presentations that involve questions concerning trusts, wills, and other estate planning issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in investment management, preferably with experience managing endowments or foundations.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful investment strategies.
  • Experience managing relationships with investment partners, advisors, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to upholding industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience taking initiative, leading projects, and delivering results.
  • Strong ability to communicate (written and oral) persuasively and strategically, and with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with varied and diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to exhibit cultural competence and sensitivity to work with a wide array of ethnicities
  • Technical proficiency in MS Office, Google applications and use of databases along with internet research techniques.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, project management experience and be highly detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and be flexible in a fast-paced work setting with diplomacy and composure.
  • Ability to handle matters with high degree of integrity.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
