The Finance Shared Service Manager is tasked with the responsibility of creating and supervising all back-office finance functions in the organization. This crucial role encompasses not just team management and the streamlining of financial processes but also includes launching the shared service finance function, guaranteeing adherence to policies and regulations, optimizing resource allocation, and actively contributing to the organization’s financial objectives.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Guide and supervise a team of finance professionals, offering direction and regular performance feedback.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Process Enhancement and Efficiency:

  • Improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial operations by streamlining finance processes and procedures.
  • Implement best practices to optimize resource allocation and enhance overall productivity.

Compliance and Risk Oversight:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational finance policies.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and protect company assets.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Supervise the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, aligning with accounting standards and organizational requirements.
  • Analyze financial data to offer insights and recommendations for enhancing financial performance and decision-making.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and facilitating effective communication to support financial objectives and strategies.

Process Enhancement and Innovation:

  • Propel ongoing improvement initiatives to elevate financial processes, systems, and technologies, exploring innovative solutions for operational optimization.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Spearhead the creation and oversight of annual budgets and financial forecasts, offering guidance on resource allocation and setting financial goals

Establishment of Shared Service Team:

  • Formulate the initial setup plan for the finance shared service team, outlining organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines.
  • Direct the recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for team members within the newly established shared service function.
  • Define and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for the shared service team, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is highly desirable

Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing finance shared services or similar functions

Knowledge & Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, practices, and regulations
  • Strong understanding of shared services models, processes, and best practices
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g., ERP systems, financial reporting tools)
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
