Have you ever wanted to take on a Financial Controller role that simulates all the same responsibilities, but with the wider support and backdrop of a larger business? If you are destined for a Senior Finance Manager or financial controller level position, this could be quite an interesting opportunity for you based in Wakefield. Positioned within a face paced manufacturing business, this key role will drive site performance, business partner with operational stakeholders, improve process efficiency and take on the roll out of a new accounting system.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller /Senior Finance Manager will have a huge degree of visibility across the business with all key stakeholders delivering best in class financial stewardship. As Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager you will identify new opportunities for improvement whilst managing a team of Finance professionals to meet their own objectives and KPI’s.
Lead and develop the onsite Finance team including commercial, supply chain, controllership and shared services.
Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to your direct team but also the wider business, acting as a subject matter expert, driving a culture of team work and collaboration both between finance and operations to truly understand the numbers
Ensure the Management Accounting team provide timely and accurate management information to control daily, weekly, and monthly operational costs and variances as well as providing any ad hoc reports or data that is required.
Evaluate and challenge costs and variances identifying ownership of variances driven by Commercial, Supply Chain & Operations.
Develop and lead the internal integration of a state of the art system implementation supporting external testing and improvement plans.
Essentially this role is targeting a qualified ACMA/ACA/ACCA with post qualified exposure gained within industry and ideally a manufacturing environment. Some exposure to Power BI or similar would be a distinct advantage but not a prerequisite of the role. Exposure to standard costings, reporting and planning are essential to this role as well as senior level management. Capable of demonstrating exposure in managing budgets, business plans, forecasting and financial strategies is also essential to the success of this role. Operating at this level you should be able to demonstrate a collaboration with multifunctional teams promoting an inclusive and collaborative way of working.
