This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
This position is responsible for ensuring these teams of professional finance staff are providing service excellence, achieving teamwork and collaboration, promoting a healthy and high-performance culture, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement, and providing prudent management and leadership. This position serves as a member of the SCE Finance Leadership Team, which is responsible for short-term and long-term goal setting, strategic priority planning for both the SCE as well as its customers and utilizing data analysis and customer feedback to guide service packages.
- Master’s with 2+ years supervisory experience and 7+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s with 4+ years supervisory experience and 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Progressive experience supervising accounting functions. Intermediate level Excel skills. Experience with ERP financial skills. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Experience managing a shared services organization providing financial support services to customers, preferably in a university or other government setting. Demonstrated commitments to collaborative decision making, customer service excellence, and effective written and verbal communication. Ability to provide strategic financial oversight, information, and guidance while adhering to critical processing deadlines and State, University and Division policies. The candidate should show strong planning, analysis, management skills, and employ excellent supervisory skills. Experience in understanding business processes and reengineering those to work efficiently and effectively is essential. Should be able to demonstrate sound professional judgement, make independent decisions, and possess the ability to function under pressure due to time constraints.
