The role will provide oversight to the GBS Global PMO team, responsible for the overall project planning, monitoring, & reporting of specific global GBS projects across the 3 centers (Bucharest, Manila and Akron), and in some instances other global or regional projects within Goodyear. The role is expected to lead and provide timely updates to the relevant project stakeholders and Steering Committee members, resolving/escalating issues as appropriate and providing contingency plans and alternative courses of action based on the project planning solutioning.

The incumbent will provide a single view of status and risks associated with the delivery, whether technical or financial of any single or multiple projects. The incumbent for this position will also be responsible for significant, global-wide projects, typically with large budgets and sizeable staff, focused on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholders etc. Spends majority of time on project management responsibilities.

Leads the design, testing, planning, and implementation of complex projects that typically impacts multiple stakeholders on multiple centers/ geographies for GBS.

Utilizing the global GBS project methodology and the standard EPP project management approach, they will ensure that all activities are supported and executed as per the project plan and business case, escalating issues to the project, local, regional and global teams as required to resolve them.

  • Prepare and define project scope, resource plan and schedule tasks, milestones and deliverables in coordination and collaboration with Project sponsors and team members across multiple locations and/or geographies needed by GBS.
  • Develop and implement appropriate quality, project, risk and financial plans, against which the project can be effectively monitored and delivered in line with, agreed costs, timescales and quality objectives. The incumbent will manage multiple key projects in global GBS related to multiple initiatives in the beginning and then other cross- center projects and ensures well documented leadership skills and knowledge.
  • Leveraging global templates, create tools and deliverables as required to achieve the Receiving Team objectives. Provide guidance on deliverables to Receiving Team members; develops best practices and tools for project execution and management; develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentation.
  • Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and track all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as appropriate. Drive organizational change taking full account of obstacles, opposition, and differing stakeholder priorities.
  • Acts as a champion for business process changes; act behind the scenes to craft solutions for business problems related to any given project/s
  • Accounting / Business related degree or other similar professional qualification in a relevant field/ subject. With PMP Certification
  • Process design / continuous improvement qualification (eg LEAN, Six Sigma) (preferred)
  • 10 years of those years in a project management or consulting role (either internally or within a consultancy firm) Leadership experience should include working with a horizontal slice of the organization, across functions, geographies and regions and with varying levels of management.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Consulting skills, including the ability to draw on the ideas of key team members and convert them into meaningful strategies and plans
  • Change management experience, focused on getting large groups “on board” with new processes and technical requirements
  • Solid financial analysis and problem-solving skills
  • High-level of proficiency in various computer applications including Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong project and change management skills, familiarity with project management approaches and tools required
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail oriented, strong planning and work flow management, superb organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Interpersonal and relationship building in an intercultural environment
