You lead the management team of Radboud Services. You give space and trust to the division directors and at the same time you aim for the integral realization of the university’s strategic objectives. The general manager of Radboud Services leads the Radboud Services organization, within the strategic objectives of the Executive Board, with the aim of contributing to an adequate and financially healthy positioning of the institution and guaranteeing proper implementation of the developed policy.

You report hierarchically to the business operations portfolio holder of the Executive Board. After the policy to be implemented by the Executive Board, you are responsible for policy implementation and evaluation for the institution as a whole. You contribute to proactive support of the Executive Board in a broad sense. You provide solicited and unsolicited advice. You identify and interpret relevant developments from outside the institution and translate them into strategy and policy proposals. You have a broad network to support you in this.

You bring a clear vision of effective and efficient business operations in a changing environment. Automation, digitalization, harmonization and efficiency are key concepts. You operate in close collaboration with the business operations directors of the faculties. You are a spider in the web in the interplay between Radboud Services, faculties, Administrative Office and the Executive Board. Good cooperation with the university secretary is essential.

The assignment
The management team and the divisions have grown in recent years into a professional organization in which there is close cooperation with each other and with the faculties. In addition to leading the management team of Radboud Services, the general manager focuses on the following topics:

• Strengthen the view from the outside in and connect the outside world even more strongly at Radboud University.
• Ensuring even more integrality between the disciplines mentioned and between central and decentralized business operations in a stronger shared services organization.
• Stimulating and facilitating digitalization, automation, harmonization and high-quality services.
• Organizing the design and management of large programs and projects in a smart and effective manner, often in collaboration with Radboud University Medical Center and other external organizations.

• You have a high degree of organizational skills, organizational sensitivity and an independent way of thinking. Complex problems are a challenge and through broad experience with change processes you know how to motivate and inspire people.
• You have a helicopter view and broad process knowledge. You have experience with (digital) transformations within business operations and know how to convert strategy into realization.
• You are a natural connector and team player and at the same time you do not avoid clear feedback and confrontations.
• You are reliable for the environment because you communicate clearly, act consistently and manage transparently.

Job requirements

• You have a university working and thinking level. You have completed a relevant academic study, such as business operations, finance, management or a related field.
• You have previously led large organizations or organizational units and various areas of expertise and are more of a leader than a manager.
• You have knowledge and experience of working in an administrative environment. Experience within the complexity of a university environment is highly desirable.
• You have knowledge of compliance and regulations within a university environment.
