The global Process Manager Asset Management (gPM) contributes to designing and enforcing process- and technology enterprise standards, quality systems of business & accounting transactions and financial data models and of designing the respective Global Process Operating Model across divisions, countries, and shared services. The role supports in general the global process governance for defining the global process delivery strategy and defining the enabling technology standards required as well as leading global projects for process and organization optimization measures.
- Provide information and support, as needed, to the Asset Management (AM) teams globally on technical accounting, policies and procedures.
- Lead SAP S/4HANA-related workstreams and drive further improvements for AM-related processes and enablers to support Internal Project vision (e.g. Operational Readiness List, Physical Inventory Count, Hyperinflation, Capitalized Interest).
- Drive and coordinate future SAP S/4HANA-related pilot strategy for Asset Accounting involving countries and relevant Global Business Services (GBS) organizations, challenge local needs, interact and collaborate very close to main interfaces in the SAP S/4HANA set-up (e.g. PWC, TCS).
- Oversees processes and controls of capital assets with a net book value of approximately 100 bnEUR.
- Oversees AM projects, system upgrades, global initiatives etc. by interfacing and consulting with the Global Process Owner (GPO), General Accounting Process Managers, technical staff, Accounting Platforms, etc. in the design, testing, migration and implementation phases.
- Measure the effectiveness of policies and procedures in place to protect the company’s assets and increase efficiency. Consult with the GPO, General Accounting Process Managers, Accounting Platforms & GBS, Auditing, etc., as needed, and recommend improvements.
- Consult with the AM GPO, global SAP S/4HANA team, Accounting Platforms/GBS AM and Regional Asset Management Business Partners regarding process steering and general process topics, and identify and recommend process improvements.
- Act as the Asset Management Demand Management owner (review, discuss, decide).
- Support the expert network meetings and community by providing guidance (content & technology).
- This position requires a University degree in a relevant field (e.g. business administration, economics, engineering etc) with a minimum of seven years experience in finance, accounting, and financial systems-related experience or an MBA with five years experience.
- Additional Accounting certifications (Ministry of Finance), ACCA, and CIMA are a plus
- Understanding the main SAP S/4HANA functionalities and SAP S/4HANA global design set-up is beneficial
- Strong technical background with an understanding and knowledge of ERP systems, data analytics applications and Microsoft Office
- Requires Project Management skills and familiarity with techniques and protocols
- Experience with cross-functional project work and change management
- Special knowledge of global processes of general ledger, asset management, closing and reporting and the respective enabling technology
- Business & General Knowledge (Divisional business Insights and Business Models)
- Financial Accounting Controlling Tax (FACT) Expert Knowledge (BKA/IFRS, ICS and other Accounting relevant directives)
- Capability of target-orientated working with diversified nationalities
- Strong organizational, proven verbal and written communication skills. Delegation and influencing skills are key
- Requires the ability to self-organize and independently interact with various local and global key stakeholders
- Sound interpersonal skills necessary to deal with multiple business areas and a large, geographically dispersed organization.
