An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager who will lead the operational relationship with ViiV’s suppliers, commercial companies and shared services providers to ensure supply continuity for ViiV’s portfolio of products. In this role you will be responsible for oversight of ViiV’s end-to-end supply chains as well as for identifying and delivering supply chain improvement projects.

  • Primary responsibility for operational management of the ViiV Healthcare Supply Chain portfolio supporting a high volume of sales, comprising of 15 marketed products, >1,100 SKUs supplied to 140 markets from a sophisticated supply network of 14 factories (within multinational pharmaceutical companies and external suppliers) with specific ownership for the demand management and supply chain performance that ensure supply continuity of the ViiV product portfolio to the encouraged standard.
  • Contribute to and/or run, as appropriate, the ViiV Healthcare Supply governance process within the CCC+ framework (SCRM, S&OP, SCIM processes), to oversee supply performance, demand forecasting performance, issue resolution of supply matters, working capital proposals and performance for ViiV inventory, cost improvements and supply chain efficiency.  Take accountability for the resolution of issues relating to shared services that impact supply performance of ViiV’s portfolio.
  • Proactively anticipate and handle any significant supply risks with supply sites and companies, recommending actions to the ViiV Senior Management as appropriate; this could involve supply issues such as Product Rationing and Recalls where product availability is constrained.
  • Champion Supply Chain Launch Excellence for ViiV’s new product pipeline delivery ensuring that supply partners are aligned to deliver product against demanding timelines and that ViiV Commercial become advocates of Supply Chain. Ensure post launch that NPIs transition to stable supply and demand management with appropriate safety stocks in place.
  • Act as the key interface between ViiV and supply partners for supply chain improvement or change projects, resolving value to ViiV and recommending the implementation strategy to and for ViiV.
  • Find opportunities, define and lead projects for improving performance over a broad range of supply chain activities, including distribution, pack design, and/or cycle times, which enable ViiV’s competitiveness in the market leading to incremental sales and profit.
  • Lead and/or support the ViiV pack standardization and portfolio rationalization process to improve ViiV profitability.

Main deliverables

  • Secure supply of ViiV Healthcare sophisticated portfolio of products and customer base of ViiV and GSK legal entities and NGOs, the latter supporting the Access to Medicine program
  • A cutting-edge supply chain improvement strategy that delivers products on a shorter lead-time and reduced cost
  • A product and portfolio standardization program that meets both medical and commercial short and long-term needs
  • A robust governance process covering all supply chain matters and activities that meets ViiV independence requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree level of a relevant field – either technical, operational or business management OR equivalent experience
  • Pharmaceutical background in at least two operational, strategic and external facing roles
  • Detailed knowledge of supply chain and logistics activities
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of building strong relationship aligned with excellent communication
  • Ability to deal with complexity involving Commercial and Supply locations.
  • Problem solving abilities suitable for handling highly sophisticated issues across logistics, technical, quality, regulatory and operational areas
  • Experience of Commercial demand management techniques and the core commercial cycle
  • Ability to successfully and optimally partner with external supply base to achieve common supply chain goals.
