This is a senior position within the Finance Leadership team and is ultimately responsible for all aspects of financial management including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, financial risk management as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
- Ensure overall Group and individual companies comply with all IFRS, financial reporting requirements of FCA listing rules and UK/overseas filing requirements.
- Lead the Group on all technical financial reporting & disclosure issues, providing clear guidance, effective & relevant training, and ensuring an environment of active engagement between business teams and Group team on accounting treatment for new or unusual items.
- Drive internal controls excellence and ownership across the Group, acting as a champion for internal & external audit whilst ensuring appropriate accountability among site and divisional management.
- Lead the day-to-day relationship with internal & external auditors ensuring effective scoping, planning, execution, and follow-up of audits.
- Ensure finance systems are in place to support well controlled capturing, consolidating, and reporting of financial commitments and transactions at both company and group levels.
- Deliver an effective shared service for financial transaction processing to relevant sites and continue to challenge opportunities to provide a more effective & efficient service.
- Champion the Group’s values and be a great leader to the Group Controlling team, as well as the wider organisation. Develop a pipeline of talent able to grow into bigger roles across the organisation as well as recognising the importance of proud specialists who are keen to deliver their role with excellence and passion.
Essential
- Chartered Accountant (or similar) with strong IFRS knowledge
- Prior leadership experience as a Group Financial Controller of a multinational (preferably manufacturing) business.
- Track record as an effective leader who is confident influencing across a matrix environment.
- Confident and comfortable delivering change in a dynamic environment.
- PLC experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office, particularly Excel
- Project management and implementation management experience an advantage.

- Exposure to multi-year capitalised development programmes
- Experience of delivering effective shared services
