This finance position has a dual responsibility supporting both REFS US region and local NOCC.

The Head Finance REFS US provides financial expertise and is responsible for achievement of REFS financial, transformation and savings targets. This includes coordinating the REFS Planning (Budget, LF, StratPlan) and Reporting for US Region, providing decision support for Investments/Projects, leading Productivity & Offshoring/Outsourcing Initiatives. This role manages 3 individual contributors.

The Head Finance NOCC Mexico role’s purpose is to act as the strategic Finance partner for Mexico City NOCC Head and site by leading site productivity and supporting the site value proposition. This role intends to support Operations transformation with location specific topics and drive the Finance Talent agenda. The role is responsible for Corporate Finance activities in the NOCC; as well as supporting External focus and Benchmarking. Is a member of the NOCC Mexico, Country Finance and Global Finance REFS Leadership Teams.

  • Partners effectively with REFS Finance globally, Operations Finance as well as REFS Business Leadership teams in US
  • Evaluates risks & opportunities, proactively communicates and makes recommendations for mitigation. Follows up and ensure issues are addressed.
  • Leads the planning process from StratPlan to Budget/LF for REFS US
  • Drives optimal resource allocation between Business, Customers and 3rd party providers in collaboration with the REFS US Leadership Team.
  • Provides timely, accurate and meaningful financial management reporting on operation and project cost that serve for the basis of performance management and decision making.
  • Identifies cost savings and productivity opportunities in US
  • Ensures good accounting and practices in line with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), MAL/FIKO, Investment guidelines and approvals process, all Operations forms (IS40,IS26 etc.), SOPs, POP policy.
  • Trains and develops the Finance team to be recognized as a value adding function within the organization
  • Education (minimum/desirable): University Degree in Finance / MBA / Certified Public Accountant Degree (CPA)
  • Languages: English is a must / Spanish is a plus
  • Experience: Budgeting, controlling and reporting for shared service and real estate function or equivalent. Accounting, Internal Audit/ FRA experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, SAP systems with working knowledge of Ariba
  • 10-15 overall years of experience
