Overall responsible to lead and manage the GSC L&D function across all 6 GSC centers. Contributes to the overall company strategy by partnering with GSC Management Board (i.e., SMT) to strengthen skills and capabilities of employees to enable business operations and growth. Conceptualize, design, and deliver Learning and Development solutions, processes, tools, and programs that develop the capabilities, performance, and potential of our people in line with current/ future business needs, HR strategy and best practices.
Job Location: DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF) GSC, India (Mumbai)
Hours: Fulltime (48 hours/week)
- Define short to medium term L&D strategy, framework, and budgets for GSC Globally.
- Identify development (behavioral and functional competency) requirements and gaps across Business Units in alignment with current/ future business objectives and needs.
- Direct the design, development and management of high quality, impactful learning and development interventions and solutions.
- Conceptualize new and review existing L&D processes, tools, and standards to achieve enhancements, best in class standards and address individual and GSC needs.
- Introduce innovative learning methods to include, online interactive e-learning, micro learning, blended learning, action learning, game-based learning, self-study, social and live instructor-led and virtual learning as it best suits the need, audience and learning objectives at hand.
- Contribute to the design and development of training materials, leaders’ guides, deliver training programs, workshops, and focus groups, evaluate the effectiveness of training against the program objectives, and recommend appropriate changes.
- Track metrics and review implementation of L&D strategy and plans and provide inputs for corrective actions.
- Approve recommendations and selection of major vendors.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in L&D.
- Roll out professional development paths for high potentials and implement the concepts of individual development plans (IDPs) to all employees.
- Understand external best practices on various training and management related topics and incorporate them internally where appropriate.
- Report and continuously improve key metrics, accountabilities and measures of learning and development success in terms of quality, quantity, and efficiency.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage, build relationships with, and serve as a thought partner to key Senior Leadership and stakeholders at all levels on all L&D related initiatives.
- Identifying, building relationship and managing Vendors/Consultants offering the best in class solutions in the industry.
- Partner with Communications to market and promote learning opportunities.
- Manage global L&D team members and leverage the network of HR Business Partners who support and deliver regional/business development solutions.
- Influence others across DHL and externally as an internally and externally recognized thought leader representing the Group.
Management Responsibility
- Direct management of the Lead the L&D heads in the centers and global L&D experts (Team of 7).
- Recruits and develops employees; keeps them motivated and coordinates their efforts.
- Works closely with service line leads and functional heads to identify and implement concepts and programs to support the business requirements.
- Minimum 8-10 years of proven experience of working as a senior L&D lead within a large/global organization. HR certification/L&D Certification a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to Conduct training needs analysis; Build and design programs.
- Demonstrated expertise developing curriculum for a variety of mediums: classroom, eLearning, podcast, etc.
- Extensive experience in design and delivery of concepts, learning, including various methodologies and structure.
- Executive presence and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage a globally dispersed team of L&D professionals, with the ability to motivate and inspire a large matrixed team around a common agenda in line with the strategic goals of the organization.
