- Work closely with the Corporate team in the United States, and lead the effort of centralizing and standardizing certain accounting areas across the globe, such as Property, Plant & Equipment, Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, etc.
- Transition existing processes and tasks performed locally into the Shared Service Centre (SSC)
- Standardize the approach to work transition so new regions can be onboarded more easily
- Develop standard processing templates so that all work, irrespective of region, is completed uniformly
- Ensure work is completed according to established monthly close timelines
- Review and assist with the completion and population of internal reporting schedules for areas of accounting that fall within the SSC jurisdiction
- Support the global annual audit process of both group accounts and the local GAAP financials
- Lead the global effort to reconcile intercompany balances
- Review and approve journals prepared by the SSC team
- Manage a team of 5 (currently – expected to grow to 6 before the end of the year) including leadership, training and mentorship.
- Manage the end-to-end AP process for Europe, including expenses and credit cards
- Be a leader in the effort to move EMEA towards a single process for AP processing
- Support the EMEA FD and the Head of Treasury in maximizing liquidity for the Group
- Develop and maintain KPIs for monitoring output and individual performance
- Line management responsibility for the AP team
- Responsibility for the management, training, and development of an EMEA-focused AP team of 5 heads with one direct report
- Participate in the optimization of finance processes across departments and entities.
- Contribute to and lead finance projects where required.
- Preserve, share, and transfer knowledge to other team members.
- Build strong relationships with the global accounting team at all levels and across all countries
- At least 10 years of relevant accounting and management experience
- Degree level, or similar qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Good knowledge in accounting practices
- Ability to communicate and interact well with business partners and colleagues
- Good command of the English Language
- Willingness and ability to work in a team, under pressure and meet deadlines
- Close attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- NetSuite experience desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS preferable
- If UK based, willing to travel to Sofia on a regular basis.
