We’re a standalone legal entity and have our own Board and Executive Functions: Chief Operating Office, Finance, People, Legal and Risk; as well as client facing business areas: Financial Markets, Capital Markets, North America, and the Crown Dependencies. We use a Shared Service model, where the ring-fenced bank (RFB) provides LBCM with key services which enable it to operate.
The LBCM Head of Credit is responsible for the maintenance of the credit risk strategy for the LBCM business – conducting oversight and assurance to ensure the effectiveness of LBCM’s Credit Risk controls. They apply an extensive understanding of risk management within the second line of defence and will be responsible for the receipt of services that have been delegated to the RFB for Credit Risk of the UK and Crown Dependencies Commercial Risk business. This includes activities such as credit sanctioning, Credit Authority Delegation oversight, credit analysis and reviews, management information and risk appetite recommendations. The individual in this position will have sanctioning rights for LBCM and will therefore become a Material Risk Taker.
- Commercial credit risk experience to provide insight regarding the applicability of credit decisions, framework and strategic approach for the legal entity
- Experience in risk oversight and assurance
- Strong stakeholder management skills and promotor of positive culture
- Ability to credibly present key messages to Executive and Board Committees
- Knowledge of other financial risk types to provide holistic risk management and strategic input
- Sufficient knowledge and expertise to support and deputise for the Chief Risk Officer of LBCM (including sanctioning)
