Headquartered in Singapore, ADAMA’s APAC region has 1,000 dedicated employees and fast-growing sales of $1Billion USD. This position as Head of Finance operates as a regional strategic business partner aligning business and finance strategies through short & long-term planning. This role collaborates and leads in the areas of business finance, cash flow, sales growth and profitability improvement through the professional finance disciplines of accounting, tax, treasury and FP&A.

This role is located in Singapore and has dual reporting to the EVP, CFO of ADAMA and to the EVP, APAC. This role manages the APAC country finance managers.

Beyond the finance transformation and operating model design, the key accountabilities of this role include reviewing the business to ensure we achieve our financial targets, ensuring compliance with group Internal controls & local rules, consolidating and analyzing regional reports, quarterly and annual forecasts & budget as well as five-year plans and year-end close.

  • Oversee budgeting and reporting; financial analysis and forecasting; cost and revenue management; and fixed asset accounting.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records and compliance with best practice financial management principles and regulatory requirements
  • Drive the implementation of the department’s operational strategy, work plans, programs, systems, controls, policies and procedures to ensure a rigorous financial framework in alignment with company overall objectives.
  • Drive and oversee the annual budgeting process and ensure inputs from all business units are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and that exceptions are escalated appropriately.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports to aid management decision­ making process.
  • Ensure ongoing review, update and documentation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial forecasts, and ratio analyses.
  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of projects, initiatives and business plans across the region to provide information for management decision­ making.
  • Implement adequate internal financial control systems and frameworks to ensure appropriate integration of business reporting requirements, the integrity of information contained in and the compliance of company financial statements with relevant reporting regulations.
  • Define and document credit guidelines, policies and procedures ensuring the inculcation of best practices and ensure adequate monitoring and management of credit exposure.
  • Ensure effective utilization of company financial resources to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Proactively identify risks and define and implement strategies to prevent revenue leakage.
  • Monitor cash flow strategy (treasury, working capital, financing) as well as financial forecasting, work plan, 5YP, P&L reports, profitability analysis, investment analysis and taxation.
  • Work closely with region leadership and be in regular contact with the Lead Country CFOs, giving them support and being involved in board meeting preparations.
  • Assist Country CFOs during audits and align with internal stakeholders on status and pending actions.

What We Are Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • A Master’s degree in related areas of business/finance is preferred
  • At least 15 years of experience in finance and a minimum 5 years of experience as Chief Financial Officer or Regional Finance Director in multinational companies.
  • Preference for experience in multi-national manufacturing companies, especially chemical manufacturing
  • Strong understanding and familiarity with business models, costing, pricing, credit, hedging, managing currencies, transfer pricing and improving overall financial performance.
  • Deep knowledge of finance, accounting, taxes, planning, and legal concepts related to business in the APAC countries.
  • Advanced financial and accounting knowledge, including understanding of finance best practices and IFRS/ international accounting and financial reporting standards
  • Experience working effectively within a matrix structure
  • Ability to Travel up to 30% for regional travel
