Altum Consulting have been retained by a leading industrial manufacturing business with a global presence to secure a transactional finance professional to join as Head of Financial Shared Services and lead the global P2P, O2C and R2R operations. The business has recently been acquired by a successful buy-out fund as part of a global buy & build strategy and is looking to establish a brand new finance function in London.
The Head of Financial Shared Services will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of an organisation’s shared services centre. Ensuring that financial processes and procedures are efficient, accurate, and compliant with accounting standards.
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the financial shared services team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to standardise and streamline processes across the organisation.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, such as vendor payments, customer invoicing, and journal entries.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as procurement or HR, to ensure smooth integration and coordination of financial processes.
- Managing relationships with external service providers, such as banks or auditors, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and timely completion of financial tasks.
- Leading and mentoring the team of financial professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Identifying and implementing technology solutions or process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial shared services.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in a similar role in an international Group.
- Extensive experience managing large teams across P2P, O2C & R2R
- Strong analytically, leadership, and communication skills
- Team-oriented, high integrity, transparent, enthusiastic, and driven leadership style with the capability to earn respect and broad-based credibility across the organisation.
- Understands the nuances of diverse teams.
