This position will lead and drive the global strategy, transformation, implementation and operations for a multi-functional GBS organization, supporting processes in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Human Resources, and DAT and across the globe.

Over the next 2 years this role will predominately focus on establishing and upgrading the organization, optimizing BPO strategy and operations, and migrating/improving transactional processes. The role will also be responsible for driving process and cost efficiency initiatives and implementing best-in-class service management processes. Key objectives for the role will include ensuring this implementation adheres to scope, schedule and budget and achieves forecasted service and financial benefits.

Designing & Implementing the Strategy

• Work with top management, senior functional leadership and the GBS PMO to finalize the GBS strategy and implementation plan.
• Execute detailed global GBS implementation plan with roadmap covering Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Human Resources, and DAT.
• Drive a GBS-wide efficiency program, based on Lean principles, building capabilities in the GBS organization.
• Communicate GBS strategy and roadmap, and a comprehensive understanding of the future operating model, ensuring alignment across the organization.
• Lead and manage all aspects of roadmap implementation including overseeing the design, development, implementation and transition of organization structure, staff roles, 3rd parties, processes, operating procedures, and systems.
• Continuously work with the GBS PMO to establish a governance process and monitor progress, risks/issues, barriers and create applicable mitigation strategies.
• Manage program development schedules, scope, resources, expenses and budgets.

Day-to-day operations

• Lead the global GBS central team (Operational excellence, Transition management, Process owners)
• Ensure world-class operations for a global GBS team. Lead the functional leads to achieve the overall GBS objectives
• Focus on customer service and satisfaction, including regularly publishing a holistic GBS performance dashboard (including metrics such as cost, quality, controls and customer satisfaction) and engaging key stakeholders in quarterly performance dialogues
• Ensure Controls & Compliance are adhered to throughout roadmap implementation and day-to-day operations
• Focus on talent development, building a strong team of local process managers and global Business Process Owners
• Identify ongoing efficiency opportunities in end-to-end business processes that extend outside of GBS scope and working with key stakeholders to address.
• Continually reinforce the value proposition of GBS through innovation and execution
• Develop and manage annual budgets and perform periodic cost and productivity analysis
• Act as a steward of the organization to help foster a positive GBS culture aligned with the overall Astellas culture

• Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
• 10+ years of GBS management and leadership experience across multiple functions
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural regional and global environment.
