As Head of Global Business Services, you will be located in the Philippines.
You will report to the Vice President Strategic Transformation and to the Managing Director of the hosted Country where the GBS – Shared Service Center is located.
Your Primary Responsbilities Will Be
- Being responsible for the operational and service activities delivered by the assigned Shared Service Center on behalf of the SGS businesses and functions, in conjunction with the programs and standards set by Global Business Services and by the GBS leadership team,
- Creating and supporting a rewarding work environment for Global Business Services optimizing operations and assuring appropriate service delivery levels.
Your Specific Responsibilities Will Be
- Managing operational and functional teams with relative autonomy and financial accountability for given areas of responsibility, in accordance with Group policies and in coordination with the Managing Director of the Country where the shared service centre is located.
- Executing GBS strategy and to ensure sustainable performance for the ongoing operations on a day-by-day basis, leading directly and/or indirectly the teams and operational units based in the shared service centre.
- Deploying and developing Shared Service Center operations in coordination with GBS leadership team and sustain service delivery with appropriate standards, metrics and level agreements in coordination with Global Process Owners and key shared services stakeholders and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- As Operations Manager, planning and deploying appropriate local resources to ensure the effective delivery of relevant services, in accordance with GBS Program and the Shared Service Center hosted Country’s standards.
- Leading effective talent management and succession planning at key organizational levels, building and growing collaboration and relationships across organizational / cultural boundaries and with Global Process Owners.
- Implementing and adapting Group standard processes in the Shared Service Center related to HR, IT, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.
- Operating to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS.
Qualifications
- University level study in specific business area and/or business management.
- Minimum 3 years direct / operational management experience in shared services operations, preferably in a captive context, or higher experience in a Global Business Services multi-business and multi-functions centre and shared services environment.
Required Skills
- Able to motivate and influence peers and subordinates and to translate strategy into pragmatic action plans and execute. Capacity to manage and run day-by-day operations and allocate tasks and delegate appropriately.
- Energy to motivate operations to always deliver results. Able to motivate and develop individuals and teams using effective performance management (e.g. job design, training & development, coaching & feedback).
- Excellent organizational and people management skills, including the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage multiple units and teams, directly and indirectly. Able to identify, assess, develop and coach and promote talents and possess people management skills (training, turnover management, organizational and process setup, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, at all levels: ability to communicate effectively to both Senior Management and at operational level and to organize and work with GBS project teams from several businesses and functions.
- Exposure and flexibility including travel
- Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
- Fluent in English, other languages is an asset.
