To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Head of Global Compensation to join our People team. This person will lead a team of compensation professionals and will orchestrate the design, program management and implementation of all areas of compensation across the company. This includes broad-based compensation strategy, incentive pay, equity strategy, and executive compensation across all of our global locations, ensuring that our compensation programs support Grammarly’s growth.
As the Head of Global Compensation, you will continue to build and evolve the compensation strategy and operations of a fast-growing global company in the generative AI space. You will be responsible for overseeing compensation in multiple global markets, including the U.S., Canada, Germany, Poland and Ukraine. In this role, you will harness your resourcefulness and creativity to meet challenges and be pragmatic in finding elegant solutions. In addition to partnering with business leaders, you will coach and mentor a team of direct reports, hiring managers, and recruiters on our compensation philosophy and programs.
- Oversee the design, development and operationally-excellent delivery of total compensation strategies that attract, retain and motivate talent in support of Grammarly’s business objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of global salary grade structures inclusive of functional job hierarchies and levels, job categories, and salary ranges.
- Build strategic partnerships with Finance, Legal and Sales Operations to deliver programs aligned with the Company’s financial, compliance and growth goals.
- Partner with Legal and Finance leaders on the preparation of materials needed for compensation committee and board meetings.
- Collaborate with business leaders, people partners, and global recruiting teams to structure job offers, evaluate jobs and levels, participate in market surveys, and conduct competitive analyses to ensure compliance and effective governance of compensation programs.
- Research and share emerging compensation trends so that Grammarly can anticipate and proactively address market changes.

- Is able to collaborate in person in San Francisco and potentially other hubs 4 weeks per quarter.
- Has experience driving, scaling and iterating on compensation programs in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with high levels of ambiguity and where the business is constantly evolving.
- Holds a track record of building, leading and mentoring a compensation team through high-growth periods.
- Can build trust and influence executive leadership through a combination of deep subject-matter expertise and relationship-building abilities.
- Has excellent stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills.
- Has the ability to drive results through influence and to convey complex concepts in a way that resonates with the particular audience.
- Has experience leading compensation programs in global markets (in particular, the United States, Canada and Europe).
- Demonstrates strong business and financial acumen and takes a systemic approach to the People function in order to align compensation with talent management and talent acquisition goals.
