I am excited to exclusively partner with a national organisation in their search for a Head of HR Shared Services.

This is a key leadership role for a dynamic and innovative HR Shared Services expert to be at the forefront of change in an organisation with a real sense of purpose. With a proven track record, you will provide insight and expertise to lead the implementation and embedding of an effective best-in-class HR Shared Service, underpinned by delivering professional advice and an exceptional customer experience.

Your new role

  • You’re a skilled HR Shared Services expert who can implement and lead a successful HR Shared Service (HRSS). Working with the SLT, you’ll be a thought partner and bring strategic and operational leadership across HR Operations to deliver first-class HR services to all employees, ensuring efficient customer-driven success.
  • You will manage the budget to lead the implementation of HRSS strategies, policies, and approaches consistent with the overall HR strategy and business objectives. Develop, put in place, and manage resources (people, finances, or assets) to implement programs to improve the cost, value, and effectiveness of the HRSS offering and positively impact performance to drive a healthy, high-performance culture.
  • This is a senior HR role where the influence of the role is across all business activities. You will be an inspirational leader for the HRSS team and promote a learning culture. Ensure HR Shared Services, policies and plans are developed, analyse HR and legislative changes, and ensure that appropriate controls and procedures are fully adopted.
  • The Head of HRSS will have the opportunity to represent the function on internal and external forums and networks to ensure the shared services position is well communicated and understood, embedding best practices and influencing developments.
  • Your focus will be to create a blueprint of ‘what good looks like’ and continually review HR processes, procedures, and resources to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, focused on technology developments and opportunities for future automation.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Proven experience in HR shared service operating models, coupled with a wider understanding of the HR function.
  • Significant people leadership skills, with a track record of developing, leading, and motivating multidisciplinary teams and promoting a diverse and inclusive working culture.
  • Executive presence with proven ability to build trust, influence senior stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, set goals, and manage multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid analytical skills, commercially minded, with sound business acumen and a strong focus on performance and value for money
  • Experience in setting up shared services models previously, would be highly desirable.
  • Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent status.
