The University of Vermont Health Network is hiring a Head of Human Resources/AVP for the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (2,500 employees in Plattsburgh, NY) AND Alice Hyde Medical Center (800 employees in Malone, NY).

In this newly-created leadership role the AVP will lead a team of 23 HR team members between both hospitals and drive culture and strategy for both organizations. S/he will employee both local and Network-wide thinking within a matrixed shared service model environment.

Strong change management experience and an understanding of local talent and culture and/or rural healthcare experience a plus within an environment undergoing significant transformation. The employee population is heavily unionized with multiple bargaining units (1199 SEIU; NYSNA) and labor relations experience is REQUIRED. Dual reporting to both the hospital President (for both hospitals) and the Network CPO (best-in-class HR leader with academy HR background at Citi/Honeywell/Pepsi). This is an in-office position with travel between Malone, NY and Plattsburgh, NY. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus minimum 12+ years’ best-in-class HR experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibility required with 5+ years’ as an HR leader of a large multi-specialist HR function; Master’s degree preferred.
