As Head of Integrated Health Solutions in charge of Value and Access, Key Accounts Management and Strategic Access and Partnerships, you will lead the implementation of effective strategic and tactical patient access plans at a global / regional scale, develop a globally integrated Patient Access strategy aimed at product differentiation and lead cross functional value and access (V&A) teams.

  • Lead and develop the patient access strategy for Novartis portfolio products in a region/country. Lead the Patient Access teams, strategically and operationally, working in partnership with strategic Therapy Areas (TAs), Commercial Excellence, Novartis Regions and priority Country teams to enhance access to Pharma International assets. Provide effective and inspiring functional leadership for the market access team(s), actively works on career development.
  • Develop and implement access solutions serving strategic TAs and improving assets, with focus on our priority geographic markets, major HTA architypes and Budget Impact archetypes needs and feasibility.
  • Drive innovative Patient Access strategy development across the strategic TAs for compounds/brands from (pre) POC up to the end of their commercial lifecycle post launch. Responsible for building and continually enhancing best in class Patient Access capabilities to establish and retain competitive advantage in a dynamic market environment.
  • Lead the KAM team to deliver on budget, grow strategic portfolio and establish the value of Novartis medicines through HEOR/HTA assessments leading to early inclusion. Ensure compliance with Novartis guidelines. Strategize and lead partnerships with key hospital chains/Modern trade for strategic portfolio & new launches with deliverable impact.
  • Build partnerships with State health systems for sustainable access and impact to patients contributing to growth of Novartis brands.
  • Payer strategy (Private health insurance & Healthcare financing). Pricing & Reimbursement. Pricing Policy assessment & looking to have sustainable price for both schedule/non schedule products. Governance of regulated pricing (DPCO) & reimbursement insights and ensure requirements are embedded in Brand plans throughout the lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with International Pricing to assess the impact of external reference pricing, forecast net price evolution across markets over time and support business case development and dissemination. Competitive intelligence on pricing strategies, including innovative and successful initiatives of competitors/analogs.
  • Monitor Indian healthcare reforms and measure impact on established products and pipeline assets. Risk mitigation through adequate financial structures and controls to be place through the Central Operations Team.
  • Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical or other related field.
  • Extensive experience (20+ years) in leadership position leading all aspects of Key account business and minimum of 10+ years of experience in market access and healthcare policies positions within the research based pharmaceutical industry in India.
  • People management is required
  • Successful record of contribution to and/or P&L responsibility. Proven sales and marketing management ability. Led pre-launch and product commercialization processes.
  • Expertise of country, regional and local dynamics, including pricing regulatory and health policies. Deep understanding of India pricing regulations (DPCO 2013) and proprietary pricing strategy
  • Expertise of innovative access solutions through insurance and health financing solutions and health technology assessment using Value models.
  • Able to understand changing dynamics of Pharmaceutical industry
  • Proficient and fluent in English (spoken and written), with good interpersonal and communication skills.
