Head of Operations and Strategy for IGBS is a global position providing program management and strategic thought leadership for IGBS.  This role reports to the Vice President of IGBS.

As the Head of Operations and Strategy for IGBS, this role is responsible for the implementation of a portfolio of strategic and transformative initiatives that will combine to form a new Insulet Global Business Services division called IGBS.   Once IGBS is established, this role will set the standards and define tools and methods by which IGBS envisions, prioritizes, and delivers projects and large-scale change programs within IGBS.  In this capacity this role will ensure adequate transparency and governance of all IGBS initiatives.  Once established, this role will also look to offer and scale these activities throughout the enterprise as a valuable IGBS capability.  This role will also ensure that the IGBS strategy and portfolio of initiatives are fully enabling of the broader Insulet enterprise strategy, and initiatives.  This role will work with other IGBS leaders and strategists to create and periodically revise the overall IGBS strategy.  Additionally, this role will provide leadership for the design and establishment and operations of an offshore capability center network, beginning with an Americas Hub, and being extended to include both European and Asian satellite locations as the company grows.  Leaders of the offshore centers will report functionally, on an ongoing basis, to this leader for center health, eco-system development and operational standardization purposes.

As the Head of Operations and Strategy for IGBS will provide program management leadership for the establishment of IGBS, provide ongoing program management leadership within IGBS, and provide strategic thought leadership for IGBS as it develops.  This individual will also work across boundaries, functions, and geographies and will work with external consultants where needed to support the work.  As a member of the IGBS LT this leader will also act as an account manager for one or more Insulet accounts.

Ensure Successful Program Definition and Implementation Planning to Establish IGBS in Insulet

  • Ensure comprehensive project and program management capability is established to ensure successful implementation of IGBS in Insulet.
  • Champion rigorous risk and issue management focus for all IGBS program activities.
  • Provide program management leadership and ensure coordination for multiple program streams and multiple stakeholder communities, including third parties and impacted Insulet functions.
  • Ensure coordination with overall enterprise transformation plan and ensure adequate air traffic control is in place to prevent unwanted enterprise program conflicts.
  • Working closely with the Organizational Development (OD) leader, ensure that IGBS planning includes adequate attention to organizational change management needs.
  • Prepare comprehensive, timely and accurate program updates for program stakeholders and steering bodies.

Provide Enterprise Program Leadership and Transformation Capability for IGBS and Insulet

  • Create and maintain an enterprise project and program management capability, including standards, tools and methods, which serves as a cornerstone for how IGBS run projects and programs.   Establish these capabilities as integral to IGBS and available as enterprise capabilities.
  • Partner with the IGBS OD lead to ensure adequate change management efforts are embedded in IGBS projects and programs.
  • Gather lessons learned from projects and programs and champion IGBS efforts to embed key lessons in subsequent efforts.
  • Catalyze and lead an enterprise forum of program management professionals to continuously improve Insulet project and program management efforts across the enterprise.

Create and Maintain the IGBS Strategy

  • Lead and coordinate strategy development efforts across all areas of IGBS.
  • Ensure IGBS strategy is fully integrated with and clearly enables the Insulet enterprise strategy.
  • Develop and lead an IGBS portfolio management process that ensures tight linkages between planned initiatives and the IGBS and Insulet strategies.

Manage the Offshore Capability Center Eco-System

  • Provide leadership for the establishment of an Americas offshore capability hub and expand the offshore capability network by adding European and Asian satellites in line with business requirements in those regions.

  • Assist center leadership teams in developing a center-focused strategic agenda process.
  • Promote active best practice sharing across the capability network, ensure centers remain connected.
  • Develop a consistent set of center operations KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) and improvement actions and share regularly with IGBS management.
  • Ensure active local community programs are in place including interactions with local universities, innovation incubators and other shared service centers, encouraging innovation and learning from external organizations.

Act as a Strategic Account Manager for One or More Insulet Internal Client Accounts

  • Where appropriate, agree and define a client facing account plan for one or more clients.
  • Where appropriate, ensure IGBS strategy is reflective of client needs.
  • Collaborate with other IGBS senior leaders to share client experiences and develop best practices.
  • Gather client sentiments using Net Promotor Scoring (NPS) and agree and monitor improvement actions and targets with the client and IGBS.
  • Act as the voice of the client within IGBS and act as the voice of IGBS with the client.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, advanced degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading business services transformational programs preferred.
  • Strong track record in complex program risk and issue management.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

Some travel will be required, approximately 25% initially, reducing to approximately 15% steady state.
