This is a new role created to support the strategic development of FGH Security Ltd and associated group companies. The post holder will be able to recruit 2 x HR Business Partners to support the role. First line support is provided through the employee engagement team. Recruitment is dealt with by a dedicated Head of Recruitment. Learning and Development falls under the banner of FGH Training Ltd.

As the organisation continues on a rapid growth trajectory the role is required to finalise and deliver an effective people strategy, delivering the desired culture and trained workforce numbers to meet future needs.

  • Be a member of the executive management team , attending weekly monthly and quarterly board meetings to represent the People & Culture function at a strategic level
  • Own the Team Charter , champion our values and challenge unacceptable behaviours
  • Be accountable for the Quality People segment of our flywheel at a strategic level
  • Finalise the people strategy and delivery and report on key results
  • D evelop, implement and maintain HR policies, processes and employee handbook
  • Ensure a high standard of governance and legal compliance in employee relations matters. Supporting HRBP’s with complex cases, liaising with legal team as necessary and managing the HR legal budget.
  • Design and implement a pay and reward scheme for parity, transparency and motivation
  • Deliver comprehensive best practice training and support to our people managers in areas such as performance management, retention, understanding employment law, welfare and investigations
  • Drive initiatives in Equality, Diversity and Wellbeing that improve the work life and opportunities of team members at all levels in the organisation
  • Manage TUPE transfers; advising the necessary people managers on correct process and liaising with the client and other parties to ensure expeditious and accurate transfer
  • Regular data analysis and reporting to the Shared Services Director and the Board to identify trends and make costed recommendations in areas such as retention, casework, absence management, inactivity, software and other solutions
  • Oversee all employee relations and casework including informal r esolutions, investigations , disciplinaries, grievances, absence monitoring and offboarding
  • Work in partnership with other function leaders; Finance to administer the Employee Assistance Programme, Recruitment and Screening teams on employment law, creation of contracts and vetting, Compliance team on visa management, working time directive and incident investigations and their potential to become conduct investigations
  • Visiting our regional offices (Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London)
  • Utilise your CPD budget to keep up to date with HR legislation and best practice
  • Contribute to strategic discussion and participate in development projects that improve our employment offering and/or mitigate risk
  • This role will require a minimum of 10 years relevant experience . A Level 5 CIPD qualification or higher is desirable but not essential.
  • You will have a strong ethical and technical understanding of employment law and people management and the ability to recognise the most suitable approach to communicate this effectively to all levels of the organisation. You will have excellent administration skills and be an early adopter of process innovation; being comfortable working with technology and new software quickly will be an essential skill.
  • Previous experience of working with a large and/or casual service industry workforce would be a great advantage, we employ between 2000-2500 team members depending on the time of year. Essentially, the ability to understand the fast paced and challenging environment of an operational department and its competing priorities. In order to be effective, you will need to be approachable, assertive and motivated.
  • We value an even handed and proportionate approach to resolving problems and making decisions; a good use of initiative and flexibility. You will be a great time planner and conduct tasks in a logical priority, but be able to allow for the unexpected.

  • Your line manager will be the Shared Services Director. You will also have access to guidance and support from our HR Non-Exec Director as well as our Employment Law solicitor for more complex matters.
