We are looking for a highly motivated IT professional to take on the position as Head of Section for MASP. The team in Gdynia is and an integrated part of our global teams supporting and operating the core production systems for Maritime Digital Class (NPS) and IBU Inspection (iI2). As well the team is managing the test tools Microfocus ALM and Tricentis Tosca. You will functionally report to Head of Maritime Application Services Høvik and are expected to take an active part in the continuous development of our services, and unit and people in Gdynia.

We seek a candidate who enjoys working with and develop people. You have management experiences and a good understanding of the IT technical aspects as well as interest in the support of business processes. The successful candidate for the role will be able to combine a strategic and operational mindset.

  • Lead a team of support engineers (including recruitment, resource management, performance dialogues/assessment, time accounting, and other activities as per DNV requirements)
  • Organize the unit to maximize delivery output and to provide an appropriate level of challenging tasks to ensure development of own employees and continuous competence building and learning
  • Work hands on to deliver high quality services (leading by example) and within Service Level Agreements
  • Engage with internal customers and key stakeholders
  • Cooperate with and manage software development partners (Craftware)
  • Ensure, as part of GSS IT, that your unit is working in a coordinated fashion and support each other to be a value adding service provider to DNV
  • Fill other roles in the team as defined by line manager (configuration, development, operations, projects, depending on candidate experience and strengths)

We are looking for a candidate with the ability to effectively collaborate with the GSS IT teams globally in a multicultural setting, where having strong communication skills will be of great importance.

To maximize your chances, you need:

  • A university degree (bachelor or master’s degree), preferably within IT
  • Experience with Application Support and Operations
  • Professional proficiency in English, written and oral
  • Strong manager track record
  • Ability to communicate effectively across cultures
    • A desire to encourage personal and professional development of the individuals in your team and ability to communicate direction
    • A desire to develop your management skills
  • A solution oriented, proactive, and service minded attitude
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to details in the way you work
  • Personal drive to achieve goals and develop your knowledge
  • The ability to build networks and share knowledge
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a collaborative environment
  • Project management experience is an advantage
