A publicly traded manufacturing and distribution company is seeking an experienced Head of Shared Services to lead their shared services operations and contribute to their continued growth and profitability. With a strong focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction, the company has established a reputation for delivering exceptional results and maintaining a strong financial position. They are committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, while building a first-in-class shared services center. This position sits in the metro Nashville area, in a hybrid in-office work model.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all shared services operations, aligning with the company’s overall business objectives
- Oversee all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, order-to-cash, and procure-to-pay processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to compliance standards.
- Manage and motivate a team of shared services leaders and professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities to ensure their success
- Implement innovative solutions to automate processes, reduce costs, and streamline operations, leveraging technology and process reengineering methodologies
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in shared services to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Research and uncover various areas for automation and process improvement, analyzing data and identifying potential areas for cost savings and efficiency gains
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align shared services operations with overall business objectives and strategies
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure optimal performance from third-party providers
- Maintain and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in shared services leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in a complex and demanding environment
- In-depth knowledge of shared services operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, order-to-cash, and procure-to-pay processes
- Proven ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to automate processes, reduce costs, and improve operational performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify key trends, and develop effective solutions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of shared services professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative approach.
