This role will oversee and develop the Shared Service Centre Accounting for Germany. This role takes responsibility for the statutory accounts of all German legal entities (incl syncreon), for the audit where required and the preparation of monthly reports supported by finance functions in the BU’s. The Shared Service Centre will operate all day-to-day accounting operations for Germany, unless individual processes are moved to regional shared services. This includes debtors / creditors / general ledger according to German GAAP and IFRS.

• Key contact person for any accounting related matters for all German legal entities, to internal as well as external parties
• Oversee and lead a large team of accountants of different qualification
• Implement and oversee a shared service centre for accounting for ILI, syncreon (incl Logit) and potentially DP World in Germany
• Ensure timely and correct preparation of statutory financial statements, which are audited to the extent required
• Preparation of year-end reports (incl “Lagebericht” / “Anhang”)
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly packs according to IFRS and DP World guidelines for all German businesses supported by the finance function in the BU’s
• Provide ad hoc reporting to banks by request of Treasury
• Oversee the correct and timely capturing of all accounting entries through the shared service centre
• Support Tax with documentation for tax audits

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a similar discipline
• Chartered Accountant or Certified Tax Advisor or experience in Audit firm
• At least 10 years experience in Accounting functions, of which at least 5 years in management
• Deep and Comprehensive knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead a large group of accountants (in different locations)
• Experience in a shared service environment
• Excellent command in both English and Geman
