The overall Transition Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end implementation and migration tasks relating to the Shared Services setup. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and successful transition while maintaining operational excellence.
- Strategic Vision: Develop and communicate a clear strategic vision for the Shared Services transition, aligning it with the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal (executives, department heads) and external (vendor representatives), ensuring alignment and support throughout the transition.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire cross-functional teams involved in the transition, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project milestones.
- Decision-Making: Make informed and timely decisions, considering the impact on the transition project and the broader organizational context.
- Change Leadership: Drive organizational change by effectively communicating the benefits of the Shared Services initiative and addressing concerns proactively.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with the transition, develop mitigation strategies, and lead the implementation of risk management plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating processes and systems, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM) may be advantageous
- Proven experience in project management, with a focus on executing complex projects within specified timelines.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the container shipping industry is a plus.
- At least 12 years of relevant experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP): Offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the PMP certification is a globally recognized credential that validates project management skills, including planning, execution, and closing processes.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM): For professionals involved in Agile and Scrum methodologies, the CSM certification from the Scrum Alliance demonstrates an understanding of Scrum principles and practices.
- Adaptability: Ability to navigate through uncertainties and adapt to changing circumstances during the transition process.
- Resilience: Maintain composure and focus in the face of challenges, providing a steady and positive influence on the project team.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information and project updates to various stakeholders.
- Collaborative Approach: Foster collaboration and teamwork, both within the project team and in interactions with the vendor and internal departments.
- Strategic Thinking: Possess a strategic mindset to foresee potential issues and opportunities, ensuring the transition aligns with the company’s overall strategy.
