The Director of Human Resources plays a critical role in shaping and driving the Seminary’s people strategy. This position leads the development, implementation, and management of programs and initiatives that enhance the employee experience while promoting a positive and diverse workplace culture that aligns with the organization’s values and goals. The Director of Human Resources maintains oversight of the Seminary’s day-to-day human resources, talent management, employee relations, payroll, and record keeping functions with a keen understanding of the link between a strong people-focused culture and organizational success

  • Oversee end-to-end recruiting, talent acquisition, succession planning, people management, training, and engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Proactively identify hiring needs for faculty and staff and support the development of high-performing teams.
  • Provide guidance and counseling regarding the interpretation of rules, regulations, and policies as they may impact the workforce.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to submit financial, payroll, and tax related items in a timely manner.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, increase awareness, encourage utilization, and provide support for overall employee well-being.
  • Oversee annual salary administration and review process in collaboration with CFO.
  • Continuously identify ways in which to optimize the HRIS system(s) to provide the best end-user experience.
  • Drive initiatives that celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, ensuring a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Work closely with the Seminary’s Title IX Coordinator to ensure an equitable and inclusive learning and work environment at all times.
  • Spearhead human resources and people-focused strategies in collaboration with leadership.
  • Implement and maintain effective performance management processes that include goal setting, regular feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Work with managers and supervisors to identify and address performance gaps, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Address employee relations issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Provide orientation and onboarding to new faculty and staff based on operational and academic needs.
  • Strengthen organizational results through comprehensive training and timely feedback, when appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with all organizational policies and procedures and local, state, and federal laws and regulations, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Provide HR Shared Services to Seminary Ridge Historic Preservation Foundation (SRHPF), as needed.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education

  • Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience

  • Microsoft Office: 5 years (Preferred)
  • HRIS: 5 years (Required)
  • Senior HR Management: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification

  • SHRM Certified Professional (Preferred)

Ability to Commute

  • to Gettysburg, PA 17325 (Required)

Ability to Relocate
