Lead, direct, manage and control the GL team and reporting team to ensure smooth delivery of transactional activities, proper resourcing, efficient work delivery and resolution of any operational issues.

• Drive collaboration with other business units to ensure measures are embedded in their respective departmental policies and procedures to improve accuracy and timeliness of reporting
• Review accuracy of general ledger accounting journals
• Review accuracy and timeliness of accounting data entry and reconciliation as well as undertake corrective measures if required
• Review data quality captured in General Ledger module and propose improvements to Manager to assist Financial/
• Management reporting
• Ensure compliance to agreed service levels, company policies and procedures
• Setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives
• Ensure the accuracy, compliant and timely preparation of consolidated financial reports for decision making and strategic planning
• Compile, analyze and report key business and financial management processes and measures to management or external agencies
• Develop and implement changes in reporting processes to improve team productivity and efficiency by adopting best practices
• Setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives
• Ensure internal accounting policies are up to date and ensure compliance to new and existing accounting standards including IFRS
• Regular interaction with stakeholders to understand their potential future demands and concerns on service delivery

Competencies

• Advanced knowledge/ use of ERP, consolidation/reporting tools (Hyperion, SAP-SEM) and office productivity tools (MS Office etc.)
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Very good professional understanding of Finance & Accounting processes and respective technical solutions
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Required Experience

• Minimum 8 years of work experience
• 2+ years of team management experience in shared services
• Experienced in deployment and management of quality improvement processes
