HCA Healthcare is seeking a Market Service Manager in Nashville/Chattanooga, Tennessee based HCA TriStar Division of hospitals. Under the direction of the Market Director of Facility Management, The Market Service Manager leads team members who maintain and repair major infrastructure systems in acute care hospital buildings, as well as free-standing emergency departments, in a given service market. The service manager is primarily responsible for scheduling the preventive maintenance and repair activities, as well as managing efficiency and work quality of field technicians. Second, the service manager will be responsible for all parts, tools, and fleet management in the assigned market. Additionally ensure payroll is submitted in a timely manner, and extensive financial and accounting records are kept for purchases and services. The service manager communicates directly with customers, vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of work status and requirements, and works with facility staff to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting departmental goals and objectives.

  • Create annual schedule of preventive maintenance activities for shared services, utilizing technology platforms provided by HCA Healthcare to communicate those schedules to the hospital facility management teams.
  • Communicates with the hospitals staff before, during, and after scheduled service to ensure awareness of appointment, and overall satisfaction, as well as follow up on the status of remaining work to be done. Reviews all work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy.
  • Maintains communication with the Market DFM concerning warranty issues, product recall notices, operational problems with products, premature failures and other issues as they apply to products and equipment purchased and installed.
  • Conducts group and one-on-one meetings with technicians as required for training, evaluation and general communication; participates and/or conducts regularly scheduled departmental safety/informational meetings. Responsible for field technicians’ annual performance reviews and for setting improvement goals per company requirements and to ensure quality meets established standards, techniques and safety requirements.
  • Retains records of purchases, and ensures appropriate stock of frequently used products are available to technicians. Maintains positive relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing, and advantageous terms. Track budget and projected spend to keep operations economically beneficial to hospitals.
  • Oversees assigned service vehicles, monitors vehicles to ensure they are being maintained and operated as required and used according to company policy. Ensures vehicles are in an acceptable condition to allow technicians to efficiently work out of the vehicle, and that an adequate inventory of parts and material are maintained.
  • Schedules necessary vehicle maintenance in a timely manner according to service contract, to ensure vehicles remain in their best operating condition. Mediates issues related to minor repairs (i.e. windshield damage), and obtains necessary information for major repairs, including but not limited to, police reports from crashes, photos of damage, repair quotes, etc. Utilize provided fleet management software to manage.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent- required.
  • 3+ years of relevant management experience- required.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience- required.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting- preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to provide hands-on support during natural or man-made emergencies.
  • Clean driving record, and a valid state issued driver’s license, in good standing.
  • Ensure the possession of a dependable means of transportation.
  • Perform work to the highest industry and manufacturer recommended standards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the hospital’s Director of Facility Management about compliance matters.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance representative of HCA Healthcare at all times.
  • Adheres to all facility policies and procedures while on site, as well as all corporate employment policies.
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner with all patients, visitors, and colleagues.
